I have visited many times at different times of the year and have yet to be disappointed. The displays are all presented in a professional way yet also in a way which appeals to the younger group. This is one of the jewels of our city in so many ways! For tourism, history, education, and just simple enjoyment. I am sure you will enjoy whatever time you can allot to the trip/visit.

This museum displays an awesome collection of authentic period armament from the middle ages to the middle east conflicts. Dioramas of fortifications and standing displays of period uniforms. Five floors of history in the heart of Louisville's Museum Row. Special traveling displays are also showcased (I saw the Football Hall Of Fame and the salvage of the Titanic here). Headsets available for voice-guided tour at your own speed. A must see in Louisville.

I took my kids (6&9) here last weekend since they were having $5 admission for residents. We went here back when they had their Mystical Creature exhibit. We really liked that, unique and informative. This time it was not as exciting. They did not have special exhibit going on. They regular exhibits include excessive amounts of weapons. Guns, rifles, swords, and knives fill the two floors. The displays are nice and informative and easy for kids to understand if they bother to read them. It is not very interactive. I think it focuses too much on the civil war and men. It has potential and when they have special exhibitions they enjoyment factor rises, but this time, the $5 admission felt about right for what we got.

We have been here several times & love it every time. The museum has two different types of exhibits. The permanent exhibits, that even though we have seen several times, we always find fascinating & see something we didn't notice before. These exhibits go through the history of KY. Then the temporary exhibits, that change quite often, are always amazing. They have had the Napoleon Exhibit, Princess Diana Exhibit, and just recently they had the Guilded Age. They have so many. Plus there is the part my kids love, the live demonstrations. Live actors have come & demonstrated mock sword fighting. They have spoke in first person as soldiers or slaves. It is very intriguing.

Nice way to spend some time but felt somewhat disappointed after seeing it all. Mainly toy soldiers, antique guns & clothing. Would have loved to see the Princess Diana display when it was here. Enjoyed Buffy the Buffalo. Nice way to avoid bad weather when exploring downtown Louisville...

I haven't been to the Frazier in a few yrs. but while I lived in Louisville I was upset I didn't find it sooner. Its seems small from the outside but when you start you can't believe how big it really is! They always have a traveling history display that's pretty good.If your a person who loves rifles and other firearms they have all kinds of displays of old ornate firearms from Europe. They do on occasion, have demonstrations with actors in time period costumes. The gift shop is not that great. But you don't go to a museum to check out the gift shop.Overall, every time I visit Louisville I stop at the Frazier!

The Frazier Museum appears to be trying to find out what he or she wants to be when it grows up. Is is a militia museum? A history of dressmaking in Louisville? A hodge-lodge of one owner's Impressionist art collection? Or is it a stopping place for traveling exhibits such as The Gilded Age?Until The Frazier figures out what it is,You would be better off to visit others museums in L'ville which know their identity and mission far better.

A wonderful museum for history buffs. Interesting and valuable displays about Louisville and Kentucky history and the history of weaponry.A good place to spend a rainy (or sunny) day. Visit the roof for a great view of the Ohio River.

We spent a few hours here in January 2015. I especially enjoyed the White Christmas exhibit ! The Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous on the top floor was a lot of fun comparing the clothing styles & sizes of the women's waistlines. We saw two live productions which would especially appeal to African Americans & children. The young man who appeared in both was knowledgeable & a good performer.

Lots to see in this interesting history museum in downtown Louisville, right across from the Louisville Slugger Factory and Museum. The third floor was devoted to European History along with the special exhibit, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, also located on this floor. The second floor was devoted to American History. Both levels had many fascinating items! Throughout the museum were displays of toy soldiers, numbering over 10,000 and showing every imaginable conflict throughout history. Check their website as they have many exciting feature exhibits coming up this year. Difficult to describe all that there is to see as there are so many interesting items!

My mother and I visited and ended up spending over two hours just exploring and enjoying the exhibits. I am absolutely certain that we didn't see everything and we can not wait to return. I don't think I could name a favorite part we had an amazing time throughout. I loved that there were some interactive exhibits and the employees were all so friendly and helpful with all of our questions. We enjoyed the gift shop and the green screen experience. Everything about this museum got a thumbs up from me and the next time I am in Louisville I will be visiting again.

The White Christmas exhibit was fabulous. The soundtrack playing in the background was perfect. Hosted the original blue dresses with one ostrich feather fan, among the wardrobe show cased. Frazier Museum , had Princess Diana ' s wardrobe a couple of years ago. So great variety of displays turn over thru the months. Loved it !

We have the yearly membership. It is well put together and worth a visit. Adults would love the exhibits as much as the kids. The staff is helpful. They do have special events and exhibits which are fun as well as educational.

So much to explore and learn, I can't wait to go back. The exhibits are stunning and artfully crafted.
