This museum is a fine gem in a very small town. It's actually a group of six buildings of various size. There is something for everyone here: Baker historical artifacts, war items, classic cars, the biggest steer on record, old electronics/appliances, tools, guns, dolls, photos. I spent about 90 minutes going through there and then another 30 minutes just chatting with the curator about the museum and town. It is free (donations accepted) and well worth your time!
We picked up a brochure at the motel for this museum and decided (while getting coffee) to give it 15 minutes. Tough to find (Google Maps on my iPhone did the trick), but we went in to see the "World's Largest Steer" and left an hour later. So much to see! Very well arranged in several buildings. Two of them are old prairie homes moved to site and filled with objects of their time. A larger building across the street has cars, plenty of Boy Scout memorabilia and a recreation of a homesteader's shack. New is a schoolroom recreation. The docent was very helpful and gave us a guided tour.Definitely worth a stop when you go through Baker, Montana!
