Just had a "mommy & me" day with my oldest son who took me to see Shrek at the Fort Peck Theater as a belated Mother's day gift. Shrek was good, don't get me wrong, but there was something off-putting about his mask and we had a hard time understanding everything he said/sang. Fiona - in all 3 stages of her life - was AWESOME, although my son gets a little creeped out when small children belt out tunes like nobody's business (especially "gingers"). Lord Farquard was also amazing. Sure wish they had programs so we could see who's who but, otherwise, it was great entertainment! Guess if they do Annie I'll have to go with someone else.
My husband, friends and I enjoyed this musical. The talent was over-the-top! We enjoyed front row seats and worried about our choice of seats when we realized there was a speaker RIGHT IN FRONT OF US! No need to worry ~ the sound was PERFECT!! Talent from all over the USA and Montana brought to life this production. And the audience involvement was an additional highlight! This was not our first visit to the Theater and it WILL NOT be our last we hope! The theater is rustic timbers and supports along with the old-fashioned theater seats will charm you. The seats are wooden and HARD, so bring along your own cushions OR rent an available one from the Theater staff. The concession stand has a nice variety of treats - we chose popcorn with BUTTER and a soda. We didn't have to 'float a loan' as all the prices were very reasonable!Since we live within driving distance, we chose to drive home, so did not spend the night.
We truly enjoyed the Music Man this past weekend. Highly recommend it to all ages. If a child has the attention span to sit for 2 hours they would enjoy a front row seat. Love to see the expressions on the actors and actresses faces. Plan an over night stay, hotel and plenty of camping.
Every year the theatre puts on amazing shows with unbelievable talent! The rustic look of the theatre is beautiful! The seats are small and wooden without padding, so bring your own cushion if possible or rent one for $0.25. There are usually 5 shows throughout the summer, with shows on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons. A must see!
The theater is fantastic and a great way to spend an evening with great family entertainment. Get a cushion at the front door, the seats are a bit hard. The consession stand has a great menu of treats (cheap) sold by community members, stop out at intermission for some icecream! We went to Footloose and had a great time.
The theater always brings a good show and a great evening. It's amazing we have this little jewel hidden in the community, and we often run into people from around the country who are camping here and learn about the theater. The shows are great, they use local talent as well as hired actors (some well known former TV or movie stars). My favorites are the comedies, but many of the musicals are amazing as well.
Professional theatre entertainment. Held at convenient times during the week-ends. Great preformances.
I loved this little now where place. they do a great job and it is always a blast. the actors are local and imports and i think it adds to the charm. I loved both the plays we saw there
The Theatre is a historic building, built in 1934 and is beautifully kept up. The live theatre presented on weekends in the summer is a fun blend of professional actors and local talent. I have attended several plays each summer and have enjoyed all.
Great talent and a nice relaxed atmosphere. It's great for families and couples. The seats are old and not very comfortable, so bring a cushion if you have one. You can rent one for 25cents, but they aren't really thick enough. A fun outing!
The professional cast is first rate. Good soundsystem, air conditioned. Looking forward to seeing Hailey Stone in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" opening this weekend
This theater has great perfomers that either come from far away or locally, they put on great shows and even modern movies you see on TV. Its amazing and I've never forgotten one show of the many I've seen.
The summer theater in Fort Peck, MT is an amazing place. You can enjoy a great play while absorbing New Deal era ambiance at this theater! It's even got the original wooden seats! Be sure to 'rent' a foam seat cushion at the door for $.25, it's worth it!
Five productions are produced each season under professional directorship--musicals, comedies and one play is always especially for children. It has been going for over 40 years and the building dates back to the days Ft. Peck Dam was built. The actors are paid professionals but extras are often recruited from the community.
We usually attend a couple of the five productions each summer and some years make it to every one! Musical and Comedy selections are offered with professional and local talent. Each year there is a childrens' play with lots of local youngsters performing. We host teenage exchange groups and include a play in our itinerary as part of a tour of Fort Peck Dam and Interpretive Center. The theater is built to resemble a Swiss Chalet and is interesting to see. Season tickets are available at a discount before the season begins and include five tickets which may be used for any of the shows. You may use all five the same night if you wish. Friday and Saturday the play begins at 8pm and Sunday at 4pm. Reservations are not required but are avilable. The theater is air conditioned and has headsets available for the hearing impaired. Concessions include popcorn, soft drinks and ice cream bars.
