This is a great place to stretch your legs on a road trip on I-90. Wouldn't go out of my way to get to this place, but it is very enjoyable if it is on your way to someplace else. The critters are fun to watch and if you have little ones they will enjoy watching them and there are interpretive displays that are educational.

Always enjoy stopping and seeing the Prairie Dogs, gives me a chuckle everytime! It's fun to see the Prairie Dogs bop up out of their tunnels and chatter at each other, it only takes a few minutes. This attraction is free and a great way to stretch when on a long road trip.

Montana is a land of wide open spaces and if you are on the I-90 and see the sign Greycliff Prairie Dog Town State Park exit sign, take the opportunity to stop and stretch your legs. This is a modest state park with no facilities and only a few interpretive displays. It's literally seconds off the I-90 exit. It is a great place for a break from your drive but not worth a long drive just to see this park. It's a rare chance to see a black-tailed prairie dog community in it native habitat. These fellows are loud as they call back and forth. If you want to take some pictures, be sure to have a zoom lens. These prairie dogs are quick to dive underground if you walk anywhere near them. Keep your distance, enjoy their antics and take lots of pictures. This 98-acre park is dedicated to preserving one prairie dog habitat. If you love nature, it is worth a quick stop and a few ,minutes to watch these adorable fellows in their natural environment. For a snack and to gas up your car, stop in nearby Big Timber.
