The museum's informative website suggested I have lunch across the road, which I did before my visit. I enjoyed wandering through the museum and found the Dinosaur displays very informative and interesting. The presentation on blackholes in the planetarium was great and the museum shop has something for everyone. The staff were friendly and helpful, I'd recommend setting aside an afternoon to visit this museum.
We are members of the MOR, so we get a special members only invite to see the new exhibits. This time they were the Civil War and Dinosaurs. The Civil War was very interesting and the Dinosaurs exhibit was for kids. We walked through the maze also and even for an adult, I learned something new.
The dinosaur exhibit is amazing! The size of these prehistoric creatures is awe inspiring. We were totally impressed.
I loved this museum! It has an amazing dinosaur fossil collection, old car and gun collection, and so much more! It was very reasonable and gave me entertainment for hours! Everyone that worked there was very nice as well...I will be back!
Like the planitarium. Love that you pay once can go twice! It was a great place to take the grandkids.
. . .and discovered more about them, early pioneers and the native Americans. I thought it well curated. I like the special winter price of $10 as well.
Dinosaurs, Yellowstone play area, Montana History, Planetarium, what's not to like. They have changing exhibits all the time. If you haven't gone, go!
I did not want to go to the museum but got out voted. The museum was outstanding. There was a lot of information on the dinosaur era and actual fossils. To name a few exhibits: this museum features a native american section, a section on historical modes of transportation (buggies and wagons, etc), a section devoted to western women, and to top it all off, the planetarium is included in the price of the ticket.
Even though we'd been here before, we couldn't stay away. The dinosaurs are so well-presented, so you can see them in habitats, interacting with their environment. Stay out of the gift shop, though, if you're on a budget. The huckleberry-everything can't be resisted, and then the kids' stuff, OMG.
this museum is beautifully arranged and loaded with fascinating displays. The most obvious attraction is the display of dinosaurs, but the historical sections are lovely as well
Everytime I visit a dinosaur museum, I learn something new, and this one was no exception. There was also an interesting Native American display that most visitors didn't make their way to, but it was well worth the time.
A great place for children and adults. I have visited alone, and brought friends. It will always be a go-to place to visit when I am in Bozeman.
Small enough that you can see everything, and it's all fascinating! Interesting and educational exhibits, some permanent and some changing throughout the year. Lots of interactive exhibits, many good for children. A must-see in Bozeman!
We were in Bozeman with plenty of time to kill before our flight home and decided to check out this museum. Were we ever glad we did! There are so many facets to this place that were a surprise to us. We knew there was a great collection of archeological finds from the Montana and northern plains area but it was the other exhibits and collections that were the surprise. The dinosaur bones and ancient history gave us an eye-opening look at something that has always fascinated us. We saw a show at the planetarium about Grey Ghosts which are elusive, energized neutrinos that scientists are hunting in the ice on Antarctica. Amazing! There was a special exhibit on geckos that showed many varieties of the little guys and taught us many things about them that we didn't know. There were lots of hand-on things for the kiddies in this show. We also toured the Pioneer Living Museum which is located on the museum grounds. It gives a glimpse of life for early pioneers in MT which included lunch being cooked using vegetables picked right from the garden outside the front door. What a treat! This museum exceeded our expectations and we would definitely recommend it to our friends and family.
We visit here frequently as a family. The information available for dino lovers is amazing! The planetarium shows are alone worth the admission. The changing exhibits in the main hall are usually quite varied, so everyone can find something they are interested in. I personally like the Americana section with the automobiles and the filling station/house.
