If you adore Frank's work and you're in Whitefish, MT this is a must. Walk from the SNOW Bus stop. The present occupants welcome walk-ins.

Having an architecture education, I was looking forward to seeing another FLW creation. We visited after hours. But even if the building was open, I'm not sure that we could have wandered around inside. While I was enchanted, I was also discouraged by the number of changes made to the building over the years. It would have been much more enjoyable if it had been restored to its former glory. At this point in its life, it's just another office building. Perhaps it can be resurrected some day to become something more worthy of its pedigree.... perhaps a museum or an art gallery.

It's just a plain, old business building, that happens to be designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It has the distinctive FLW look, but it's nothing special.

It was surprising to find a building in the little town of Whitefish, Montana designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Being a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright, I love searching out these little gems. The woman in the visitor center was able to provide additional interesting information. A side note, stop in the visitor center!!

What a joy to find such a work of art, still being well used. Such a classic, well designed building still being practical. I truly appreciate the owners and current occupants of the building tolerating fans without grumbling or charging entrance.

If you are a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright' work, it is worth stopping in front of the building to appreciate one of the architect's work. It isn't one of the stunning homes he has designed, yet it deserves a look. You can see some distinctive features that show up in his other works, notably the layered roof. Quite the surprise to find a Frank Lloyd Wright in Whitefish.

This is a classic of American Architecture here in Whitefish, MT. I would not really call this an "attraction" for entertainment, it is more like a gem for appreciation. Especially to be here where not expected. It is a simple building by the icon of American Architecture, Frank Lloyd Wright, and has many of his classic elements: cornice details, brick joints, window style, raised roof skylight, etc. The building is low and horizontal and rectangular, in order to fit in with its surroundings. Prairie style. Very human scale. It is a building that a Law firm uses even today, and over the years users have had the good sense not to ruin it. We were fortunate to walk the interior also. So if you understand FLW, this is one to see.

Unless you really appreciate and know the story behind the man, you won't be impressed. It is a fairly non-descript building really; we drove by it a few times while in town without realizing it was an attraction.

Unfortunately, the work of such a famous architect is lost in the middle of shops, bars, and tourist type environment. You have to appreciate the design, but the location certainly is lacking.

I read the reason why he built in Whitefish on the back of a postcard, odd.It is a Law office and states its the Frank Lloyd Wright building on the parking lot sign.Alone it would be neat, but around other buildings it kinda has no real draw for your eye, cool and obscure that it's in town I guess.

As I walked in downtown Whitefish, just where the "sidewalk ends" and quiet business begins, I saw a building that caught my eye. There was something iconic, subtle, but distinctive in its design. Then I saw the sign near the street: "Frank Lloyd Wright Building." Aha! That was it. It had many of the hallmarks I'd come to look for in such architecture. I later took my husband there and enjoyed it all over again. I do not know the story of how it came to be there, but it adds distinctiveness to an already distinctive tourist town that is not a tourist TRAP.

bealight

Just a little strip center looking building. no big woop the ice creme place across the street was more exciting.

This was an oddity in it's day but now it is perhaps one of the least interesting buildings that Frank Lloyd Wright ever designed, and we have visited many. Don't plan a trip around seeing this architectural example. If you adore FLW, then by all means, if you are in Whitefish stop by and see it. It will not take long.

This building is nothing to write home about. The flat roof is completely inappropriate for a snowy area and leaks like a sieve.

If you happen to be in Whitefish, and are interested in architectural history (Frank Lloyd Wright in particular), definitely stop by this little office building. Appreciate that some info posted outside and some interesting pictures as well since there have been some changed to the building since it was built.
