Great place to spend time browsing and seeing what's available in antiques as well as shops of flowers, clothes and modern day stuff. Shop owners are very friendly and glad to have you in their business area. Located old downtown district so even the buildings exteriors offer something to enjoy seeing. Museum in Old town hall has lots to see. Looking for a unique gift for a special occasion you can find it here. Places to park may be limited but you can find them in back of area. Due to one way roads on both sides of village you only have to watch for traffic going one way. A special place to see the past things we used. I live in Denham Springs and go this area frequently when looking for something special as a gift.
As an antique district, we are pretty good. Parking can be an issue because of the limited roadside parking and extremely limited off-site parking. Traffic through town (one way southbound, different one-way northbound) makes if dangerous to cross the street during peak rush hour traffic. And keep your kids in tow. It can be dangerous to exit the vehicle on the street side.Accommodates have greatly improved around the interstate area, but nothing is available in the "antique district." Ditto restaurants as well, though there are two or three "cafes" in the district. For the men, while the women are shopping, I suggest you avail yourself of the Bass Pro Outdoor World located near the I-12 exit. The kids will like Bass Pro as well. The inside decor will "knock your socks off." Restaurant is average. There are many different type of antique stores to choose from, though most, if not all, are on the southbound hwy through town. Prices vary.Denham Springs has its own Mardi Gras parade and October Fest in the downtown area and both are family friendly. The Denham Springs area is a well-populated bedroom community for Baton Rouge because of our more laid-back approach to life and our better K-12 school system.
My boyfriend and I went to the Denham Springs antique district on a rainy Saturday afternoon. We had no trouble finding free parking, but that may have been because of the weather. Neither of us is particularly into antiquing, and we weren't looking for anything specific. But we managed to spend a few hours wandering the shops, trying not to break anything, and marveling at all the weird stuff that ends up for sale. It is almost like a free block-long museum. Our favorite shop was the one that used to be a theater and was converted to a store. This street is a very interesting place, and I will definitely go back!
If you love shopping and looking for antiques and great deals, this is really a wonderful addition to Denham Springs. Always fun spending the day walking through all the shops!
I come here often, considering I live about three miles from the antique district. Favorite store to shop at, at the moment, is the Louisiana Purchase and Heritage House. Love the book store, as well. Also, Mothers & Daughters is a great store with more modern pieces/jewelry/purses/home decor. Love!!
My wife and I enjoyed our morning visit to the Denham Springs, Louisiana Antique District. The shops are lined up, one after the other, with something of interest for everyone. Our favorite was the "Korner Shoppe" It has an abundant supply of salvaged items from days gone by with very reasonable prices.
We stopped by on a nice cool February morning and ended up staying all day. The shopping was wonderful with a couple of great restaurants nearby. All of the stores are lined up in the downtown area with plenty of parking nearby.
se quiser ver coisa diferente e antiga esse é o lugar. É bem legal!Um passeio para se passar horas, tem uma loja que é dentro do antigo cinema que tem muita coisa interessante.
