Nice place. Fun to feed the animals. The zipline looked awesome but books up fast. Call in advance to reserve a spot on the zipline. Worth a stop.
Thanks to Road Trippers, we found this place on our way to Baton Rouge from Dallas. Great array of animals to feed and the most alligators I've seen in one location! The feed for the animals is very inexpensive and provides hours of fun. The kids also held a baby alligator, which is one of the many highlights of the visit. Highly recommend - a few miles off the highway and definitely worth the stop!
We took our 4 year old here last weekend. Even though it was cold and a little rainy, we all absolutely LOVED our visit! There's a large variety of animals in the petting/feeding area of the zoo, and the staff are AMAZING! Our daughter was extremely entertained by the staff, and loved holding the baby alligator. We were the only guests there because of the weather, so that was great. The food in their snack bar was amazing as well. We had meat pies, crawfish pies, mozzarella sticks and fries. It was ALL fantastic! We would definitely visit this place again. So wonderful! :)
We went to check this place out, they have zip lining over the gator ponds, but the ponds are so green, hard to see gators in them. It was not worth going into.
Heard about this place through some locals and decided to give it a shot. Glad we did! At first thought it seem a tad high priced to walk around in the mud but once we saw how many kinds of animals they were feeding I understand why. The place was very clean and the animals all looked very healthy. The staff was friendly and let us hang out for awhile and interact with George the baby alligator. If you have the extra time and some extra cash for animal food it's worth the drive.
We had a blast at gator and friends! George Boudin aka baby gator topped the trip! Excellent service and you could really tell they cared for the animals.
Took my daughter zip-lining last week. Seemed a bit pricey at first, but well worth it. We had an amazing time, and KJ was a great guide. Will definitely be going back!
This was fun. The gators were being lazy and didn't go too crazy for chicken during feeding time. I don't think I would want to hang out with them in their habitat though.... I don't think they would be too lazy if I jumped over the wall.... It was creepy watching them eat. I got a little freaked out but it was a fun experience. The deer, goats, camels, etcetera were fun to feed. Great low cost family and/or couple fun.
Our first time here and our kids 3 & 10 had a blast! They enjoyed getting to feed the animals and seeing the alligators. My 3 yo was super excited she actually got to hold a baby alligator. Staff was very nice and helpful.
Take the kids, they will love it here. Nothing spectacular as the animals goes, but this won't matter to the kids. The owners do maintain the zoo quite well and they have an inside concession area as well as a large covered eating area outside of it. The zoo is not very big, so don't go in thinking you'll be here for hours.. as far as the animals go, you'll be done in 30 minutes. Haven't been since they put in the zip line, but I hear it's a blast!
Deer, alligators, llamas, kangaroos and more. I had a great time feeding all the animals and seeing several alligators up close. Didn't try the zip line because we were on a schedule but I do intend to come back. Oh, you get to hold an alligator. Luke was knowledgable and nice.
Gators & Friends recently added a zipline course that has seven runs. The final run is reaaallly long and flies you right over the alligator pond -- quite a thrill! I think we paid $70 a person, but it took almost an hour and a half to do the whole course, so we felt it was definitely worth the price. When we did the zipline in Belize, it cost us $100 per person to fly over some brown, crunchy trees and it was over in about 45 minutes. The Gators & Friends zipline goes through the trees and gives you a great view of the park, and their towers are a lot taller than the towers for the Belize zipline. There is a minimum and maximum weight limit, so you might want to call in advance to be sure you're within that limit.
it was really fun out there. what a remarkable place to be.socialization was part of the day. friendly and nice to people
What I seen of the park it was good, but that was just the alligator pit up front, tried venturing out with my little scooter; wasn't very successful. I am on oxygen and have a portable unit and not the tanks, was so bumpy from the gravel that my concentrator kept falling off. I drove from Texas for my grandson's birthday party, and would have loved to of stayed and went around the park with him, but felt it would damage the scooter. They need to have a paved path for handicapped use. Glad grandparents of birthday child are free.
Not the best sign posted place, but well worth the trip. The place is a great petting zoo with a good range of friendly animals. Food for the animals is at a reasonable price. The feeding of the gators was also a great treat, wheat appeared to be a couple Gators turned into a pool full. Its also a great photo opportunity when holding a baby gator. Sadly we were too late for the zip line experience so if you want to do this then it may be better to call ahead. It looked great.
