This is a really great park in Lincoln Parish. It is very clean and beautiful. Great place to picnic or walk. Beautiful in the spring and fall. It is also peaceful and relaxing. Good place to camp also.Good place to be quiet and relax. Good place to play for children.
This park is really pretty and fun to visit. It's a highlight of the area, but the real crown jewel is the biking/running trail. Absolutely fabulous! It's always well-kept, super challenging, and really fun. I live in the area and I try to go at least once a month.
The reason this park is so unique is because it is not your typical city/parish park; rather it is a beautiful semi-wilderness area come to town. There are winding roads, small hills, beautiful trees, pine straw and leaves everywhere, and ample pavilions for entertaining.I love the lake and the beach and the lifeguard stands and the building and restroom area on the lake. I love the trails, the serenity, the peace and quiet. If I could, I would spend two or three days a week at this park.I love this destination, and I don't mind telling the world just how great it is. Head North off I-20 on Hwy. 33, travel a few miles, and you will find yourself in paradise.J. Randolph SmithMonroe, LA
Even though we went there in late November, we could still see some fall colors and had great time with friends.
Ventured out for a lovely late afternoon after being in a work training all day. Park had an admission fee of $2 per person. Roads were easy to navigate, signs were clearly posted and some landscaping added a pretty touch. People were taking homecoming photos around the lake, using the walking and hiking trails, enjoying picnics, having a retirement party, relaxing in hammocks they brought and sitting on the numerous piers dangling their toes in the water. Several signs said no swimming but enjoyed watching ducks and relaxing. Many campers set up as well as places for tents. Only 15 minutes outside of town and well worth the drive for a bit of respite. Some of the oak trees were already getting some red leaves for Fall! I would totally return to camp for a weekend!
We were so surprised when we pulled off the highway to camp for the night to find such a beautiful, well kept park. We had a spot with a lake view. It rained our only evening there so we didn't get to walk or hike. The sites are paved and clean. The bathrooms are quite a hike up the hill and they are fine but not great. Looks like a great place to spend time hiking and biking.
We stumbled upon this gem on TripAdvisor when looking for a quick day trip to unwind. The reviews were good, but we found the Park even nicer than we imagined. The walking/jogging trail around the small lake is wonderful and we enjoyed a nice picnic at one of the many shaded tables. The camground is being improved, but already nice. There is also a small beach, fenced in playground, bike trails, fishing, and enclosed pavillions for rent. We've returned a couple of times and look forward to future visits.
Some of the best mountain bike trails in the country. Beach OK. Fishing OK in the small lake. Very nice, economical RV campground.
A beautiful park , that offers a lake for fishing as well as swimming . A nature trail and a place to cook out with the family ,a must for a little quite time
Great little park. Has a little something for everyone, playground, swim beach, campsites, hiking trails and one of the best biking trails in the USA. You will think you are miles away from civilization but Ruston is less than 15 minutes away.
LPP is a true hidden treasure for locals and visitors alike. It offers so many things for people of all ages. World Class Mtn. Biking, a barrier free handicap accessible playground, a beach for swimming, a lake for fishing, primitive and RV camping, open and enclosed pavilions, and some of the greatest beauty that nature can provide.
As I traveled from one end of Ruston to the other on my way to this park I felt I was leaving Ruston and going elsewhere. The drive from downtown to Lincoln Parish Park will take about 15 minutes and it seems you are just about leaving Ruston. You drive through a residential area before getting to the park entrance. If you are unfamiliar with the area you will definitely think you are lost! Just keep going. There is an entrance fee (per person) and off you will go to wander inside. There are two large playground areas, secluded picnic areas with large grills, covered tables, bathrooms and even a kitchen area (just sinks, and counter space). The lake is large but when I was there it was rather green so I didn't try it out. There is also a fishing area and many many trails to explore. Great relaxing location for celebrations, etc.I attended a crawfish boil event here with about 200 others on a very hot day and not once was I bothered by any mosquitoes, or other bugs or found it incredibly hot as we were always under cover.
Arrived here yesterday afternoon with my son and granddaughter. First visit ever! Eleven year old granddaughter will compete in a mountain bile race tomorrow morning. This park is heavily wooded, has great facilities, including picnic sites, full hookup RV sites, primitive camping sites, all of which are well equipped. The park is located on small lake and is simply beautiful. There are several docks on the lake for fishing, sunbathing or picnicking. Bring your canoe or kayak and enjoy the lake. It has a sandy beach area for swimming, and three lifeguard towers, presumably manned during the busy summer months. It has a network of walking /jogging trails, bike trails and so much more. The entire park is remarkably well equipped and pristine. We'll be back! :-))
I have been going to this park for quite sometime and I still enjoy it. Went this summer with my grandchildren several times and we all had a fun time. Plenty of tables that don't need a reservation to use and there are bathrooms to use. It is a good place to spend some time swimming and you can bring food and drinks in so that saves money. I like the fact that there are lifeguards on duty to provide that extra measure of safety. There are areas you can reserve if you are having a party or get together. I have reserved a couple in the past and felt it was worth the money I spent. There is also a play area there named Legacy Park and it is wonderful. It affords a place for all children to play and have fun regardless of their abilities. If you haven't been there is no time like the present. I hope you enjoy our Park here in Ruston, Louisiana.
This is one of the nicest parks in Northern Louisiana! The price is $2.00 per person - no charge for kids under 3 years. You can also get season passes. You can get a map at the entrance but you may not need one. There are signs everywhere showing you where to go. The beach area was clean, had lifeguards on duty and sand for the kids to play in. The park had swings, slides, a see-saw and some plastic drum sets that the kids really enjoyed. It's not often you will be able to take a swim, a swing and a slide all in the same area! There is also a biking trail. Excellent hiking trails also. So much beautiful scenery. Just a peaceful, fun atmosphere for the family that appreciates the outdoors.
