The Old Governor's Mansion was an interesting place to visit. The guide there was extremely knowledgeable. He was not in a rush, answered many of our questions. This building is very nice inside and outside. You learn not just about H. Long, but much more.

Very nice restoration and period furnishings. Wonderful and informative tour conducted by their staff. Amazing Huey Long stories as well as other interesting governors.

Never had a tour like the one delivered by Lynda and cliff!! Best ever and I know so much more about the Long family as well as the other flamboyant governors who lived there-such an interesting tour! Beautiful place.

This was our first stop in Baton Rouge and I absolutely loved it!The lady that showed us around was very knowledgeable and friendly. She knew a lot of stories about the Louisiana governors who lived here - quite some different characters! The house is beautifully maintained and worth a visit. (Entrance fee $7 per person)

I was very impressed with the home in great condition and set up well for the period. It was well worth the time to see.

small and gracious house filled with local history. Small informative tours. Worth visiting while in Baton Rouge.

This is one place everyone should try to see. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the house's history and the lives of its occupants. Each bedroom of the house is outfitted for a governor who lived there. There are personal artifacts throughout and the guides make sure you a little something in each of their lives. The sitting room mirrors face each other across the room and are just lovely reflecting the chandeliers.. It is just a wonderful old house and the stories of their inhabitants make it great. You won't be disappointed with the guides. (Try to go to the State Musuem first and see the video of Huey P Long. It will give you a good insight of the man who had it built.)

When Earl Long became the Governor of LA, he did not like the governor's mansion...it was too small and outdated. After a losing battle with the legislature, he took it upon himself to have it demolished, saying that it had termites. He then had a large impressive mansion built on the site. It still stands today and the tour guides give an impressive look into the history of LA. Well worth the time and money to tour.

A must see in Baton Rouge. We went on the tour because we had nothing else planned for that day of our trip and it turned out really nice. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and we were the only ones in that tour group.

enjoying a personal guide through the Mansion was a pleasure, Frank was really passionate about the building and very good in explaining about the past Governers and their personal experiences, It was a gorgeous building, not very expensive to enter.Enjoyed all the furniture and felt like I had been taken back in time.

We tried to visit the mansion but it was closed. I did stick my camera through the bars on the gate to snap a picture. Looks like a beautiful home and I would like to go back for a tour

Very interesting, well presented tour. The "Huey" stories certainly add to the character of the "Louisiana White House" as well. Rooms are well furnished with period pieces. The "Sunshine" room complete with Sunshine's saddle was priceless.

Anything with former Louisiana Governor Huey Long is always exciting. Add an amazing tour guide and you get stories about Huey, his brother Earl, and other Louisiana leaders who inhabited this gorgeous house in downtown Baton Rouge. Well worth the trip!!

We visited the Mansion on June 11th. It is a guided tour of the rooms. You are allowed to take pictures. The rooms are decorated with furniture of the different governors who lived there.
