This is a nice enough park with several sets of playground equipment. One set of the equipment is quite old and metal and very rusty. I would hesitate to let my child play on that equipment. However, the other playgrounds looked well-kept. There is a half mile walking trail around a small lake. There are many geese and ducks to see and feed. (The seem to be very accustomed to getting fed, as they were following us around practically begging.)This isn't the nicest or best kept park I've ever been to, but it seemed to be in a safe area and have several options for fun activities for a family.
We had a blast at this park. My girls 11 and 9 loved the playground. The equipment was awesome and large enough for my oldest to enjoy herself. The bathrooms were very clean. Also its handicapped accessible.
I am getting the eerie feeling this park is haunted. Me and my friends went to check out the older wooden house (Whatever it is) I SWEAR, I heard a noise in there.. Sounded like a footstep.... Then we immediately went to ghost hunting. We didn't catch any voices, But we know.. Something, or more than 1 thing, Is haunting that area. Really nice and beautiful park, But me and my friends don't think the history is so beautiful..
This park is beautiful except for all the poop on the track. So many ducks and they literally poop everywhere. Horrible for anyone with children as the stuff is all over the track really bad toward the playground area. I am surprised the health department has not been contacted.
I take my grandchildren to this park on a regular basis since it is close to their home. There are a few things in the play areas need to be repaired. As an example, there are two sand shovel- digging machines, but one is broken. There is a Stand & Jump Pole that the top protective cover is missing. I have seen children playing on it and was afraid they would pinch their hands while reaching for the top as they jumped. The geese can also be a bit aggressive and messy, at or near the picnic pavillion, when people who ignore the signs have been feeding them. For the most part, it is a nice park, in a safe area for children to run and play, or a nice place to take a leisurely stroll around the lake in the late afternoon.
this is wonderful place to be... this is wonderful place to be... this is wonderful place to be... this is wonderful place to be... this is wonderful place to be... this is wonderful place to be...
Nice playground for the kids, Had a broken toy. I did like the soft mat for the kids to play on. We met other people there for a picnic. Ir worked well for this group.
Joe Tucker Park has a fairly large lake with a walking trail around it. Lots of Canada Geese have taken up residence here. Problem with that is that people feed them and there are more than we need; esp. more goose poop than we need. Two playgrounds for children. One is typical and near the lake. Pea gravel for shock absorption. The other is the Kiwanis All Kids Playground, which has a fantastic shock absorbent surface so kids bounce, not break. This playground is handicap accessible. The surfacing accommodates walkers, wheelchairs, etc., and there are ramps to access much of the equipment. Thanks to Kiwanis for building this great place. Handicap equipped restrooms built by the city are near by. Thank you Mayor Penhale and Helena City Council. In the park there are also tennis courts, baseball fields and other facilities. The Kiwanis Club of Helena along with the Boy Scouts have cleared property in the rear of the park in anticipation of building a multiuse Kiwanis Community House in the future. For a town the size of Helena, this park is fantastic.
