We came here because we had a discount coupon for an hour's worth of (bumper) candle-pin bowling. Our 6 yr old and 9 yr old granddaughters had bowled the 'big ball' with their parents but had not ever played candle-pin. We wanted them to experience something different and also something that would be more manageable for them. Candle-pin bowling is uniquely New England in the U.S. and also a favorite in the Canadian Maritime.They loved it!First of all, the ball is lightweight and easy for the youngsters to handle. The bumpers were a terrific solution to the gutter ball and they also get three chances per frame. Because of these equalizers, our six year old granddaughter was now able to beat her nine year old sister...consistently. What was originally meant to be a new experience for them has become a favorite. At their insistence, we have now been back twice since.
