I had never hiked Peaked Mountain until recently with a local Hiking Club. It was a delightful hike. Not extremely challenging...I wouldn't be able to do an extremely challenging trail! Peaked Mountain has gorgeous, clean and well marked trails with views which appear to be well used by individual hikers, groups, families and their pets! By choosing different trails & routes you can modify the length of your hike to suit your own needs. I had a wonderful time and very much enjoyed my time on the mountain! Once the snow clears up a bit...I'm looking forward to going back again!

The trek up Peaked Mountain is an easy climb...not too steep and it is a pleasant trial. In Fall I would think it would be beautiful. Once on top there is a very nice view of the area. This would be a nice way to spend a day in the country! I enjoyed it.

We just took our first trip to the top of peaked mountain, and I know we'll be coming back often. The hike was moderately challenging on the way up, but it took us no more than 20 minutes at a brisk pace to reach the summit. From the top much of south western mass is visible including a slice of the Quabbin reservoir, and many mountaintops. I could even make out the highest point in my home town 20 miles away. Its definitely worth the effort, and we will surely be returning for the foliage in the fall. 5 stars here

I hiked up peaked as a child. I grew up on the east side and went up the face many times. No special trails in the 50's! Many fond memories . There used to be a mailbox at the top with a notebook signed by visitors. The view is especially nice in the fall. Through the years I returned with my children and friends. But I haven't been in 10+ yrs.

From Butler Road, the hike up the west side of Peaked Mountain although strenuous, is very much worth it. The view from the top down through the valley into Connecticut is outstanding. The hike is through a hardwood forest which until recently had been managed by its previous owner. Fall foliage can be spectacular. Summer, although warm/hot, can give a refreshing breeze at the summit..

Really great hike & views!! Plus my dog loved it, he got to roam free meeting new ppl & other dogs & still had time to ourselves with nobody around :)

From the parking lot it's a short walk to trails to the summit. A gradual slope to the loop trail. On The Trustees of Reservations website the trails are listed as strenuous in places, but we found them only moderately strenuous with the easterly outlook trail the most rugged. From there you can see Mount Monadnock to the north, and Mount Wachusett to the northeast. On the westerly side, known as Boulder Hill, is the view of the City of Springfield and Connecticut. So from the "summits" you can see three states. From both areas the views are incredible. Don't forget to look at the note book in the "mailbox" on the way to the summit. Some people having a little fun with their entries. We have hiked the trails on Peaked Mountain in all seasons, winter being the most challenging, but they are well marked for any seasons explorations.

I go here often because its not far from where I live and when I hike and make my way to the top its feels like I'm a thousand miles away.I love this place. The view is great and its not a bad hike.

I grew up in Monson. Peaked Mountain was the first real mountain I ever climbed. My father took my brother and me there when I was 12 (that would have been 1965). In those days, the trees to the west had not grown so high and one had an unobstructed view of the Connecticut River Vally. I now live in California but every time I go home, I usually climb good, old Peaked Mountain.

Great hike and the Trustees of the Reservations does a great job keeping this trail in beautiful shape. Terrific views particularly in the Fall.

Great view from the peak. Nice walking trails. A little steep at first but the view is well worth it.

Peaked mountain has two areas. One is the mountain which is a more strenuous workout. The second is a series of abot 7 trails around a pond which is so beautiful. Dogs are welcome and mine loves it here.

Beautiful views for long distances. The hike up to the top can be a little strenuous. Not crowded. A nice destination in the summer or leaf season. Another Trustees of Reservations properties. Quiet and scenic.

the hike is a nice little one with moderate to novice hiking. the views are fantastic and the trails could be better marked... all in all great place to take those who are new to hiking
