This is a PYO (pick your own) , but you can get them already picked if you want. You can also get peaches, cider donuts and fun. Lunch food is expensive, but they do their business in about three months of the year. Fun things for the kids, too.

Went on a Friday afternoon in October. Was actually pretty crowded but they have plenty of parking areas. The apple cider doughnuts ($5 for 1/2 dozen, $8 for dozen) were warm and tasty. Someone in my party purchased ice cream and that was pretty good too. I love apples, but I'd just buy them in the store when they are on sale for 99c-$1.49 a pound. I'm not spending $20 for a small bag of apples. Anyway...if you are in the area, this is a nice place to stop, stretch your legs, grab some doughnuts and continue onward.

We had a really fun time! We went apple picking, horse riding, children maze and small tractors for kids to play with. A little pricey since the maze and activities cost 5 per child and 5 per horse ride and then cost of bag. Also open orchards were about a ten minute walk away from any bathroom.

We visited this farm recently on a cloudy Saturday, and we had a great time. The lines for Apple picking, food and attractions were short or there were no lines, the donuts were hot and delicious and there were plenty of apples left for picking. They had animals , hayrides and a few other things for the kids. I'd definitely recommend skipping the bigger farm in town for this place, all the attractions without the crowds.

Loved the apple picking and apple cider donuts are relish They could use a few more ladders to place throughout to get into the trees. We will go back again!

Shelburne Farm opens around Labor Day each year for pick-your-own apples and peaches. The many variety of apples are very high quality and their peaches fabulous. On weekends, they have a live band, apple cider donuts, a maze for kids, plenty of pumpkins, mums, homemade cider, cheese, apple pies and a great shop for apple related products.

We have been coming here since I was a little kid and it's always a good time. Each year they add more activities for the kids. The hot donuts are the best around. My 6 year old daughter loves the peddle tractors, hay maze and mountain, hay ride, pumpkin patch, not to mention the apples. We were worried that it would be crowded arriving at 2PM on a picture perfect Fall Sunday, but there were no lines and plenty of apples to go around, even without ladders. Tip: You can order food at the inside registers, so check the line inside before waiting outside. Inside often has a shorter line.

Our trip to Shelburne Farms was disappointing on many different levels. First is the parking -- to get to your spot, you need to navigate through waves of patrons. This gets nerve-wracking, as many parents don't keep an eye on their kids. Second is the topography. Both the parking lot and orchard are riddled with dips and culverts -- I nearly twisted both my ankles. Lastly, the apples themselves were the smallest I've ever seen from a commercial orchard. It felt like we were blueberry picking instead.

Regardless of your age the choices abound. Apples of many varieties - pick, eat and walk. Place some in your bag too. Looking for peaches they can also be found. Ice cream at the end with special bakery items can also be found. Spend time with the animals or if you have children taken them on the rides.

My family and I have made it a tradition to visit Sleburne Farm every year. However I visit just for the Pumpkin Fudge and I am not a fan of fudge, but this one is worth the ride. The family and I plan to go back again this year, but with our first baby who by then will be 9mts. old!

My husband and I visited Shelburne Farms on our recent visit to Stow. We tried apple cider donuts in Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire but Shelburne Farms beat them all hands down! They were warm with cinnamon sugar mixture. Great! Also excellent caramel apples. Loved it!

Shelburn Farm is a nice place to bring your family apple picking. It is small (but not too small), has a nice intimate, easygoing atmosphere and is much better ran than a nearby very popular orchard (Honey Pot Hill). The only downside was that most of the apples, except for the Fuji, did not taste good. It probably had to do with this year's crop in general and not the specific orchard (friends had been disappointed with the crops at several other places). The apple trees seemed healthy with apples but weren't that tall. Other than not having the experience of climbing up ladders it probably didn't affect things. Parking was easy. There weren’t long lines getting into the orchard. The apples were expensive to buy but admission is free. The cider donuts were good and service was fast (unlike Honey Pot Hill where the line was over an hour). There were also animals, entertainment and activities for children.Shulburne Farms had the feel of a real community farm which compares to our experience at another apple orchard last year where we felt like we were in an assembly line.

This place has lots to do for the family set. There are apples & pumpkins to be picked in season. A 1/2 bushel bag of pick your own apples is $26. Kind of a lot of $, but worth it. Get there early in the season & early in the day if you have little ones picking with you; some of the trees were cleared of apples except the very top branches during our visit. If you are particular about the type of apples you pick, check before going to see what's in season. There were only 2 of their 10+ types available during our visit. They also have a small farm store with apples, cheese, cider, baking mixes and lots more. We enjoyed 2 hot fresh apple cider donuts for $2.50. YUM! There are hay mazes, animals, kiddie tractors, horse rides and a few more things to enjoy for kids at a cost. This farm is certainly worth a visit!

This farm is huge and they have a great home made ice-cream. I went there couple times for apple picking with my family and we spent half day on apple picking which was fun. Apples were delicious and I love picking them by myself :)There is a hayride for kids and they have a free parking. The only negative thing that I would say is that, they give you a small-mid size apple picking bag for $20 which may get 15-20 apples most, I thought it was pricey, it comes to a point that you are spending $1 per apple..
