The place is beautiful. Great courses and facility. Staff and cart girls were super nice. Try the burger at Ruth Chris!!!

Just finished playing War Admiral for the first time. Played Man o War a few times in the past and can now definatly say that War Admiral is by far the tougher of the two tracks. Course was in great shape. Plenty of forced carries on both the Tee shot and the approach shots, plus water or woods bordering most of the fairways. For sure this is not a course for the beginner or someone who tends to spray their shots...so be forewarned or bring plenty of balls. We played from the whites (only 5700 yds) and we were more than satisfied with the challenge. Course seems to play much tougher than the 122 slope...even if you reach the green in regulation a par is not guaranteed...plan on more than a few three putts Finished the front in under 2 hrs but the back dragged at 2.5 as we caught up to a group that should have opted for an easier course. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Played the Man O' War course. Very tough, those "sea grass" rough patches just eat balls alive. If you are not perfecty straight you are really in trouble. Staff seemed a little slow to react. Stuck behind some really slow players. I don't mind people doing what they need to to get though the course, but, if a person needs 12 practice strokes on each shot, they should be told to move on or move over. Also, the beverage cart was pretty scarce. And they had this woman running a contest on one of the three's where you pay $10 and if you get close to the hole you win things, hole in one, big prize, etc... seemed a little tacky to me to pay their swollen green fees and then have a huckster harassing people out on the course. I suppose some people like that sort of thing, not me.

There are two courses here and both are challenging and well maintained. Played 5 times and enjoyed 4 of them. I am an 11 handicap and am not used to being prompted for slow play. There was weather moving in one day and the Ranger kept hassling groups to speed up play. At no time did our group slow the play of the following group. Our play that day was no slower than the previous three days that we had played. The Ranger went from group to group pressuring golfers to speed up play. At the turn, he hassled us because the ladies needed to use the restroom. When the threat of weather passed, he quit coming by. Perhaps he is the one who needs to be re-educated in course etiquette. We also had a groundskeeper drive through the tee box whilst we were teeing off because he couldn't get around our carts which were parked single file on the cart path. Nice courses but at $155 per round, the staff's behavior could stand some maintenance.

GlenRiddle has two quite different courses. The Man O' War course is the public course with grasses, pot bunkers and enough water to provide a couple of challenges. The War Admiral course is for members, but often the public can play it as well. It is a fairway course, with lots of woods and some water challenges of its own. The clubhouse and carts are well maintained, and the staff are friendly and helpful. From my observation, the courses host many groups and tournaments from Pennsylvania and NJ as well as the Delmarva peninsula, which must mean something to the avid golfers. Drinks at the restaurant , a converted stable, is a great way to end a round.

Fabulouse course (Man O' War) with wonderful practive facilities (all-grass range). Course is very well maintained and challenging. Carts have GPS to help with yardage and hazards, etc.
