It is one of the best parks in the USA and has been voted as one of the best parks. It is a true gem.

Wonderful paths to wander... kid and dog friendly has playgrounds throughout the park and dog dropping bags and trash locations. old world charm, birds to view, shady places to hold hands.

Very pleasant walking around the lake, complete with swans. The water was amazingly clear, and it was absolutely filled with good-sized fish everywhere. There's a pretty little bridge at the wooded end of the lake, and lots of pathways up and around Lower Lake; the home of Jonathan Hager, founder of Hagerstown, is at one end, and the Washington County Fine Arts Museum is adjacent to the lake. A nice stop when driving on a long trip!

This is one of the nicest city parks we've ever been to and we've traveled a lot.The park is kept clean, the trees and shrubs are beautiful and during the summer months, free concerts fill the air with an eclectic array of sounds. This is one of the best parts of the area, not to be missed.

I have always enjoyed Hagerstown City Park. It is a great place for the kids to go play in the summer, or a great place to walk around the lake any time. It is well maintained and is large enough to spend several hours walking around. It is a perfect escape for kids and adults alike. There is a little concession stand that has been there ever since I was a little kid. It isn't open all the time, but in the summer months, they offer all sorts of snacks and drinks. There are two different sets of restrooms in the park, one by the center, and one by the streets. There are two separate playgrounds for children, an art museum and a stage for all sorts of performances. It is a wonderful addition to a small town.

This is a little gem in a city that would benefit from a few more. It is a picturesque place with ducks and swans and gazebos. You can find a spot for an outdoor lunch or take a quiet stroll around the lake. It has garnered National awards and should not be missed.

City Park in Hagerstown is huge; it has a 50-acre lake! This is a lovely place to visit and there are many attractions within the park: Hager House and Museum, the Train Museum, Art Museum, etc. There are signs to direct you and it is very easy to drive around. This is a very nice place to stop and relax. The ducks, geese and swans will keep you entertained.

If your looking for someplace to take the kids to run and play. If your looking for a romantic stroll, a place to seek some solitude, or a family picnic. Try hereIf you like art, or history. try here. Here in Hagerstown, is a City Park, a picturesque setting of weeping willows gracefully swaying over a shallow man made lake, Tree shaded paved walks, picnic tables, playgrounds for the kids, and picnic pavilions at waters edge. This park boasts a fine art museum (which is free), the original home of John Hager, a band shell, the Mansion House Art Center. and a railroad museum (Being steam enthusiasts, we stopped to see Engine 202 which is housed outside under cover)Our family has been going to this park since before I was born, sooo many years ago. I went there as child and later with a family of my own. On our most recent trip we saw couples sitting upon benches holding hands, children running and playing, families eating at the pavilions. It's nice to know that some things never change.Me.... I love the idyllic setting of the lake, that in the shallow water you can see the fish, (sorry no fishing allowed) and of course the “ducks”. Their new addition of a sculpture “The Fishing Lesson” is most appropriately named.Through all the years I have never failed to be delighted by the stroll around the lake, feeding the "ducks” and just really having a great time. A few final notes: They do have public restrooms. For those in a wheelchair the paved paths were manageable, even though there are some very determined tree roots pushing their way up and some steep inclines. For the Steam Enthusiasts...Be sure to stop by and see Engine 202. It's size will dwarf you and maybe you too will be amazed that in 1912, we had the technology to build such a beautifully complicated piece of equipment.A true testimony to American ingenuity All in all Hagerstown City Park has something for everyone and truly is a great way to fill any day.
