chesapeake exploration center

We visited with our family in January and there wasn't much going on but it was a interesting drive in to it. We walked around and looked at a few exhibits. The trails would be very nice in warmer weather. We would return again.

The Chesapeake Exploration Center is a delightful surprise. Situated at Kent Narrows....the Center is a wealth of information about the Surrounding area in particular and the Chesapeake Bay in general. From the outside it appears small, but inside are photos, artifacts, and more information, documentation, maps and helpful staff make the visit more than worthwhile. Make the effort, it is definitely worth your time.

The museum wasn't what I had hopped it would be but it was fun and clean. Perhaps it is my fault regarding what I expected.

A good start to the Eastern Shore, but ignore the "skipjack" outside. Kent Narrows is a busy are, with boats in the Narrows and cars on the bridges. To get away from the craziness, try the trail...this is a good place to get some info and get started.

Great place to start planning a trip. Offer lots of informational pamphlets about surrounding areas. Also has nice small display area and there is a nice walk to look out onto the bay.

We live in the area and finally stopped in and are glad we did. We learned a lot about the bay and waters around. We also learned about the industries and history of the area. Very nice walking path behind the museum and picnic area.

We stopped by the visitor center to orient ourselves to the Chesapeake Bay region and get advice on where we should go and what we should do with the limited time we had on this visit. In addition to the visitor center, there is a short tower one can climb for a bird's eye view as well paths to the water and a picnic area which we originally intended to eat lunch at but decided not to as the day was blazing hot and there was no shade. The small exibit area was nothing special so we did not spend much time seeing it. The staff inside the visitor center was very knowledgeable, helpful and enthusiastic. We took their advice on what to see and were very pleased with their recommendations and directions.

nice little museum about ches. bay crabbing/oystering industry; very nice observation deck! it is local to me, so i assume a tourist would like it even more!

Free display on eastern shore life. Good for a quick stop.
