Thank you for this great feedback! We are thrilled to hear that you and your family enjoyed the sturgeons, tiger sharks, and birds. Thank you again for taking the time to write a review and we look forward to your next visit to see us!
We are also disappointed to hear that your visit did not live up to memories of your first visit 25 years ago. Since then, we've added several award-winning exhibits, increased the amount and variety of animals in our care, established multiple conservation and animal rescue programs, and even built a new building.Though we do not own or manage any parking structures, we have worked with the Lockwood Place Garage to offer a parking discount for our guests, which we emphasize on our website. We hope that this information comes in handy on your next visit. We hope that you'll come back to see us and allow us to show you a better experience than your first - and much better than your second. We are especially excited to be opening our new Blacktip Reef Exhibit in the summer of 2013. Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
Thank you for sharing this positive feedback. We are thrilled to hear that you had a wonderful morning with us! We appreciate your compliment to our staff members and facility maintenance crew. This kind of information is great for us to hear! We hope that you had a terrific visit to Baltimore and that you'll stop by to see us again when you are next in town.
We are sad to hear that your visit did not meet your expectations. We strive to provide inspirational, positive experiences for all of our guests and it sounds as if we also did not meet our own expectations in terms of your visit. We apologize for any confusion regarding staff communication in finding the seahorses. We are glad that you found them and hope that you enjoyed those exhibits. We appreciate your feedback regarding wayfinding signage. We are pleased to be a family-friendly destination and indeed have many exits located throughout the exhibits for folks who need to find a more quiet space. We apologize that you felt like there was "no way out" of certain exhibits. This information is helpful to us. We also offer timed entrance in order to manage crowd control. That being said, we often fill up to that limited capacity on the weekends. For a more private visit, we suggest coming to see us in the morning or the late afternoon on weekdays. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We do hope that you'll come back to see us and give us a chance to provide you with a more typical visitor experience in the future.
Went on a rainy Saturday, very crowded. Great exhibits, clean and employees are very helpful and informative.
The reason you visit is to view the fish. However this past Saturday there was no way to see much of any fish or even feel safe. Overselling tickets for timed admission caused the crush of the crowd put the fear in me, my wife and young daughter. $35 ticket price made me feel cheated by a carnival barker on the midway for little amusement at too high a price.I like this aquarium but will not visit again until they reduce their entrance quotas to allow viewing exhibits with less than 4-deep in dark passageways built for not many more to pass. Think nightclub fires in foreign lands with no escape because the exit became jammed.
Drove from Pennsylvania to visit Baltimore for the weekend and specifically see the Aquarium. Disliked: WAY TOO BUSY to enjoy. Timed tickets not honored, so seemed like way too many people at once and very hard to enjoy exhibits as felt "pressured" to move along quickly so that others could get a glimpse too. I really don't remember all that much that I saw...not too memorable really as nothing stood out to me that was particularly unique or interesting, except for the part of the Aquarium where you walk down ramps and can see the larger tanks of sharks, rays, etc....but even this wasn't that exciting. Also, Staff didn't seem to enjoy themselves very much. Just didn't get a great feel during visit.I was recently at the Camden Aquarium in New Jersey and had more memorable experience there and enjoyed the exhibits a lot more, including the fish varieties, etc.If I visit the Baltimore Aquarium again, I definitely will visit during the week during School, when hopefully won't be as busy.
Aquarium is located in absolute city center at the waterfront. I have been there twice, it was always unfortunately crowded with massess of people, mostly small kids were very loud and hitting glasses what stressed the fish a lot. On the other side so huge variety of creatures living underwater was amazing to see and understand. I especially liked seeing jellyfish of different colors. What I was a little dissapointed was the dolphin show which was a little dull in my opinion.
I've been to several aquariums, and this one kept my interest the entire time. The layout is a great one that maximizes space and naturlally moves crowds along. I attended on a busy Friday close to Spring Break. However, due to the layout, I never felt crowded. The main tank includes a large sea turtles, many small reef snarks, and numerous colorful fish. The ecosystem is somewhat self-contained according to the staff. There is a larger tank that houses various larger sharks. There is also a rain forest with monkey and a few larger birds. The price of admission also includes the Jellyfish exhibit and Dolphin show. Overall, I felt my $34 was well spent. If you plan to do the Aquarium, Top of the world, and museum, there is a special to get access to all three for a lesser price. We found this out after we'd already gone up the Top of the World!
Major admission price made it tough to see high value especially as the dolphin show is no longer operating. That said, it is a nice place to spend a few hours, helpful people along the way pointing out facts, but it's hard to swallow the admission price. Go on a rainy day!
Very disorganized, little guidance, over priced for the quality of the experience you receive. I guess I just set my expectations too high.
This is a an excellent aquarium. If you have a couple of hours, you should not miss this place. You start at the top and slowly walk down while seeing all the fish. Definitely give this place a try.
We had a great time as a family. We took our 3 nephews and niece. The dolphin show was awesome! the 3d show scared the kids and made them jump out their chairs.lol. The line wasn't too long, they get you with pictures but all places do now. Only downside is strollers...sooooo many
