Was great to see the lions.. 4 of them but sadly the rates are not well defined or indicated, appeared discretionary and thankfully diverted into the individual's pocket since no receipt was issued. Appears a little run down for a place keeping wildlife. More needs to be done in adding a few more animals and breeds for the large parcel of land. KWS may need to consider closely monitoring the place to ensure safety issues are addressed.
one freely watches wildlife like the gazzele, girrafe, wildbeast and several others for free. The area is surrounded by beautiful hills in the horizon that gives it a great ambiance
Well you get to see lions and cheetahs upclose. It's a short drive from maanzoni lodge. Its a piece of undistubed nature and its a good place to see animals withiut having to travel too far.
Walking and/or cycling around here is amazing.Hence the name of the lodge we stayed ''amazing kenya retreat''Amazing it really was.
So close to Nairobi and so unknown. A beautiful oiece of nature with more wildlife than one expects. It's certainly a very nice place to visit. There's a lodge inside called Amazing Kenya Retreat where you can have lunch, rent a bike or stay overnight. They have reviews here on Tripadvisor as well.Machakos is not very far and if you need to be in Machakos , stop here and have a look. It's worth it.
Out of pure luck, I found this jewel. It is a sanctuary, with no entrance fee, where you can walk around freely amongst wild animals such as zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, eland, etc etcNo dangerous preditors. There are 2 lodges in this gem:-Maanzoni Lodge (conference facilities, pool, restaurant)-Amazing Kenya Retreat (conference facilities, restaurant, MTB's, guide's, shiatsu massage)It's just 35 - 40 minutes drive from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and a tranquil place. I prefer ending or starting my stay in Kenya on this plain savanna instead of the worldcity Nairobi town.
