I am not the most expert cigar aficionado, but I've enjoyed around 300 of numerous varieties in the last year. Since tastes vary wildly, you might want to know that my favorites are Diesel, Alec Bradley and Oliva blends that come from Nicaragua. Of the cigars I've sampled in Granada this last week, Mombacho is number one, Doña Elba comes in second and "Padron" comes in at a distant 99. Perhaps the Padrons were knockoffs, as they were pedaled near the hotels and not at a factory. I have yet to experience a good Cuban cigar... Probably because I've only gotten knockoffs. In any event, if you like their flavor, Mombacho cigars are well constructed, burn evenly with a strong ash and don't offend people with their aroma.
Hi Theresa,Thank you very much for coming by. It was a pleasure to have you as our guests.Claudio is very passionate as you could tell! We´re glad you enjoyed your visit! All the best,Daniel
Hi Mary,Thank you very much for your comments. We apologise for any confusion as regards to being listed under ´shopping/fashion´. Aside from the factory, we also do have a retail side to the business as we sell not only our cigars but also our branded T-Shirts, hats and ashtrays plus rum and coffee. However, I do agree that ´shopping/fashion´ can lead to confusion so we will rectify this.I also apologise if you had some trouble understanding our local tour guide Doneyda who I presume gave you your tour. I assure you that that would not have been the case had I given you the tour as I´m also from the UK myself (also fluent in Spanish as I´m originally from Gibraltar). Regards,Daniel
Thank you very much for your review! We´re glad you enjoyed your experience. However, you only rated us one star! I´m assuming that this is a mistake as it doesn´t not correspond with your great comments! Regards,Daniel
Thank you very much for your great review! We´re glad you enjoyed your experience. Our aim at Mombacho Cigars is not to simply sell cigars to tourists but rather educate guests on the history and culture of cigars, give people a greater appreciation for the art of cigar making and understand the whole process from seed to smoke. We aim to create a comfortable atmosphere for our guests to relax, unwind and enjoy a cigar in our lounge if they so wish. The history of Casa Favilli is also very important to us. When one visits Mombacho, not only will one learn about cigar history and production, but also enjoy a beauitiful colonial mansion with the best views in town, we aim to be much more than a cigar factory. We aim to create memories. We are glad that you appreciated what we are trying to achieve. Regards,Daniel
Hi Julie,Thank you very much for your comments, it was a pleasure to meet you! Thank you for complementing my English, I´d be rather concerned if I wasn´t able to be understood given that I´m British myself (from Gibraltar)! Hope you had a great time in Nicaragua and thank you for dropping by Mombacho Cigars!Regards,Daniel

Thank you very much, it was a pleasure to have you. Glad you enjoyed the cigar rolling!- Daniel
Pretty neat side-stop during our carriage ride through the old town. Great ambiance, very friendly people and very interesting to see how the cigars are made. Looks easy, but requires lots of skill. Many great photo ops and excellent opportunity to learn something new.
