A friend and I rented kayaks here for a morning to go check out Las Isletas. The kayaks were in good shape, friendly staff, reasonably priced and they even sent a free guide out with us!

I knew I had one full day in Granada and my number one priority was taking a guided kayak tour of the Isletas. I was not disappointed. My boyfriend and I botched our planning and ended up getting to Inuit Kayaks at 12 noon -the hottest part of the day- and took a four hour guided trip -the longest ride available. The first thirty minutes I thought maybe we had made a mistake. Even though you're paddling into a lake there are waves. You will get very wet (which was a blessing in the heat) but that stretch towards the islands (both getting out and coming back) is by far the hardest part. Jose, our guide was stellar. His English was amazing and he was friendly and helpful. We loved all the stops along the route: the pirate fort, the island restaurant, monkey island, and weaving through all the tiny islands with their amazing birds and beautiful houses. I wish we had done this in the morning or evening both to overcome the heat and to see more animals but I still had an amazing time.

I guess this tour could be really incredible if you are good at kayaking. I paid 25 $ for a 2 1/2 hr tour at 6 am. I was picked up earlier, William- an older man who met me at inuit Kayaks was very friendly. although with limited English. Then the boy, Brian, who said that he was 15, although as I teach 15 year olds, I think he was 13 or 14 most, said that he would be my guide. He also had very limited English. When we got to the lake, he basically said, "Sit," pointed to the right and said, "go there." When we started the trip, it was very windy and the waves were quite. I did not get any instructions on how to handle a kayak in such waves although I informed William that I am not a good swimmer and do not have much experience with kayaking. So, while I was struggling with the waves, my guide Brian was around 50 meters away from me struggling with the waves, then he flipped over. The day before, while I was doing a boat tour, I saw kayaking tours with groups of people: they had a professionally dressed guide who was close to them, talking to them. I asked my guide if this was how the tours were arranged and he confirmed that I would get a professional guide with whom I would not need to worry. That is why I originally signed up for this tour. Then, when I got off the kayak and asked the boy to bring someone adult, he could not understand what I wanted as his English is really limited and I do not know Spanish.So, I guess if the company sends such a young guide on such trips, they should at least train him a bit on how to deal with this job. But again, I am sure if you know how to handle a kayak on a rough lake, you will not have a problem doing it! PS: I did not get my money back as they said that I will get it later today from the office, so I hope it will be alright.

The kayak trip was fantastic! We traveled with the best guide, Brian. He is an older fellow of 15 ! Born and raised on the lake/islands. His grandfather, also born and raised on the islands, were very knowledgeable and so great. Although, I did not eat at the restaurant, I recommend inuit kayak, for the lake tour. Can't wait to come back!!

Really like this, we had a guide for about the same price as it we would've rented the kayaks alone at Inuit Kayak. The people were also super friendly and it was very pleasant morning/afternoon. It's much better to visit by kayak (around 3h00) then by motor boat in my opinion. In bonus, the restaurant was very good and fairly priced and the setting is marvelous for relaxing/eating/drinking after the kayaking, right on the lake.

We took an early morning kayak tour of Las Isletas so as to beat the heat of the afternoon. The owner of the company was our guide and it was only my wife and I on the tour. We booked the tour through one of the other tour agencies in town but it was still only $25 for 2 1/2 hours. In retrospect it would have been nice to start even earlier (we started at 7) and to go longer. Our guide spoke mostly Spanish but had a wealth of knowledge.

We really enjoyed our tour and wished we had booked it directly with them instead of going through a "middle man" type agency in Grenada...The owner was very friendly and knowledgable, and so was our guide!We highly recommend them!

My wife and I took an early morning tour of Las Isletas with the owner of Inuit early one morning on our honeymoon. The owner and our Kayak guide was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and flora and fauna (it'll aid the tour if you know some Spanish). He was also really passionate which made our tour even more fun! The cost was $25 per person for a 2 1/2 hour kayak. The pace was relaxed and if you like birds you'll see plenty of them! If you have a spare morning or afternoon in Granada, Inuit is definitely worth a visit and probably cheaper than going through a tour agency in town.
