This was a part of our tour- did not really know what to expect but is was an informative panga ride to these small islets (and private homes!) including a Monkey Island visit where we enjoyed watching them. Our guide was informative and had a sense of humor. A nice asset and resource for Nicaragua!

A friend and I decided to do a tour at sunset. Ask around for someone who will do it at this time because many tour companies are about 10 AM or 3 PM. We wanted to go about 5 because more birds are coming in to roost. For our $25 apiece, we got a taxi to and from the boat, an English-speaking guide, and our own boat so we were able to go from side-to-side as the views presented themselves. We saw a lot of birds, jumping sardines, many of the islands, a tour of the fortification on San Pablo island, the monkeys on Monkey Island, and amazing sunset views on the water. It was ver worthwhile.

We did a one hoyr boat ride through these series of lush islands some with very nice houses. It was refreshing to have a cools sea breeze after the stifling heat of town. We saw lots of birds and a spider monkey who came over to investigate us.

We managed, but I truly wish tour guides were bilingual. Or me for that matter! We learnt much about the development of the islands and who lives on them.Got in some bird watching among seeing some other creatures / critters.

We did a tour with Danny's tours. They picked us up from our hotel and brought us to the marina. We had another solo traveler in the boat with us. The boat ride was about an hour and a half. It was a covered boat so we were in the shade and the breeze made the temperature quite pleasant. We went around the little islands looking at houses and birds: egrets, cormorants, ospreys, vultures, pelicans, orioles. We stopped at the monkey island which I had mixed feelings about, but they seem well fed and I guess if people are going to insist on keeping monkeys as pets it is better to give them an island than put them in cages. After the boat ride, we were taken to Cafe del Arte where lunch was included in the price of our tour. There were quite a few option, and we all enjoyed our meals. The tour cost my fiance and I $25 per person, but we noticed the other traveler with us only paid $15. I know we could have gotten the boat tour cheaper if we had walked to the marina and bargained, but I was happy with our experience with Danny's Tours.

We rented a local guide and his boat to take us for an abbreviated trip to Monkey Island where we enjoyed watching the monkeys, but we also saw other lovely islands, small and rocky (but with lush vegetation and homes), consistent with their volcanic origin. A lovely afternoon!

And some of the 365 islands. Big, pretty lake. Important resource for Nicaragua. I hope they don't build the canal. Go see it now in case they do. Worth it if you have the time.

Taking a little trip to explore the islets of Granada early in the morning is worth the trip. I saw different birds around and the view of the volcano was awesome. Our tour guide Giovanni made our trip pleasing as he took us to the little island where there were monkeys. I love monkeys and so I had the thrill to take pictures of them. The boat ride all together was just refreshing.

Erick tours arranged a 3+ hour boat tour around the islands. Very interesting and informative with a tour guide in the boat

We enjoyed a leisurely boat ride through many of the islets of Lake Nicaragua. It was fascinating to see the million dollar ones that many of the areas rich use as vacation homes along side the islands that the natives live on. Quite a contrast. Some islands are for purchase!

I had doubts about this after reading the reviews. but we loved it.Tony from our hotel Mansion De Chocolate set us up and went with us and all 6 of us thought it was a great tour

Created by an ancient explosion of Volcano Mombacho, the "365" islands and islets are delightful when seen by small boat. Filled with a wide variety of birds and even a few monkeys, one get's a sense of coastal jungle--on the edge of the very large Lago Nicoragua.

Definitely take a a boat ride into these islets for marvelous sights: feed the monkeys - be sure to bring some fruit with you! See some awesome houses as well as humble ones, the flora and fauna are stunning! I suggest the longer boat trip - worth it!

Our guide/ boat handler was excellent. This is really pretty area in Lake Nacaragua; without the trip, you would never guess it is here just by looking from the shore.
