Clean, pleasant well maintained library. Lots of people using it. Its right near the beach , museum and park monument. No one on a trip need actually visit a library so id say pass unless your moving there. Had a good collection of french books and a very good collection of books on the over all. Before you step in please remember to hand in your bags to the security since its not allowed.

It is a reasonably good library to spend a few hours at a relatively quiet place in the middle of the city, near the ocean.It also has a few newspapers and magazines in English. I have better libraries to go to (esp. the Sri Aurobindo library around the corner and down a bit), but this one is good for spending an hour or two on a lazy afternoon.

It is an authentic old library, you can read and know so many things.Members are enjoying , visitor can read the books, news papers.

Authentic age old library with different set of culture inside. Great place to hangout during sunny hours of the city and read as many as books.

Good but need maintenance and they have lot of collections,Gove need to invest more money in proper parking system and to highlight this kind library

They have an air conditioned reading room and an ordinary room - newspapers and magazines can be read. Looks really big and would be great if you are a member and a local. For a Visitor , just reading on the ground floor is a must experience

If you have time at your disposal and feel up to reading/ spending time in a library this is the place you should be at...

Its just a library with most of the books in Tamil. If you are interested in reading, you can visit. Nothing much to see.

This library have lot to tell you . Amazingly big and have great helping staff, which will take you to all you want to have , knowledge , History and many more..

It is an old library with a good and some rare collection of books.The library has many memories of the french era.

This is a french style library that holds a lot of books of the old eras. You can go and read up about the french, and the colonies of french and their history at this library that is situated in the French quarters of the city.

This library is run by the Govt of Puducherry and therefore it has all the disadvantages a government institution would generally have. Though this library is the major source of knowledge to scholars and students in and around this town, it is maintained poorly, mainly due to lack of qualified staff. One would feel sorry to see even the rare editions of books are allowed to be destroyed by rowdy elements. This library has large collection of general reading, referral and many rare books, including copper and pal leaf scriptures. it is ideally located near the Bharati Park and Raj Nivas.

l alliance francaise fermant le dimanche je me rendais cette journee la a r r... un monde fou, pour lire[ mais pratiquement des indiens].... au 1er etage dans une encoignure poussiereuse quelques rayonnages de livres en francais, la assis a une table bancale installee a cote d une fenetre ou des araignees s etaient installees depuis 300 ans j ai reve.....svp visitez cetre bibliotheque....
