There are Peumal and Easwaran temples here. The gopurams or towers are wonderfully colorful. They have been recently renovated from deserted or neglected state.
This is a very old temple in old residential area of Puduchery. The renovation work was going on at my visit on 24.2.2015.i was pleased as management spent money for renovation. This temple of Lord Vishnu.
The temple is very close to the sea front and the Aurobindo ashram. This was undergoing major renovations and once done it will be a great place to visit and pray peacefully. Being in the middle of the city, the temple is crowded.
The temple was very nice and you can sit there and have some peace during the visit to Pondycherry. The temple was being rennovated during my visit so the elevation was not visible.
Experience a world gone by in this ancient temple. The idol in the main sanctum of the temple has you spellbound and gets you to automatically bow your head in reverence. A very calming and historical experience.
Though there was some construction activity going on in the temple, it was worth going there. All the more since I had gone in the morning just before I visited Aurobindo ashram. I guess in a few weeks the construction would be complete & it would be a more nicer place. Do visit if you have time
We wanted to visit some south Indian temple to have the feel of it. We visited on some special day I guess and it was quite crowded. But we felt nice being there. The prasadam/offerings which we received were very nice.
It is a very old temple. Long queues of people is always there. One has to spend a lot of time to have darshan. People are forced to leave the temple to clear the rush.
This French Era temple is a massive one and the main deity in the sanctum is of Lord Varadaraja Perumal. This place is currently being renovated and hence may lead to a little inconvenience. However for any visitor to Pondicherry, this is a must visit place.
This is not a tourist destination! A temple to start your day at Pondi and then take a walk to the Ashram.
This is one beautiful temple, neat and peaceful. The temple is huge and has lovely work done on the walls A must visit temple in Pondicherry.
This temple is relatively old (for Pondicherry), it is an important place of worship for the Hindus. Its historical importance during the colonial period needs to be read to be believed! Clean and peaceful (though tends to get crowded during special occasions and festivals).
The Perumal Koil as locals call it, is a beautiful place to lighten your heart and cleanse your soul.Whenever I feel I need peace of mind, I go for a prayer to this temple of Lord Varadaraja Perumal and instantly I get what I go to get.The Panduranga sannathi & Anjaneyar (Hanuman) sannathi are beautiful too.The architecture of this temple will remind you of the French past of Puducherry. The temple Pond or the Pushkarni as it is called is clean and serene. Do not forget to carry a pack of Bread or Biscuits for the fish here.
Lots of good vibrations inside.. must see temple on Mission street. Has both Shiva and Parvathi, and Lord Venkateshwara (this priest seems to be very sincere). Nice temple with lots of goodness inside.
well, there was something different about this temple. the place was absolutely calm and very divine, the deities were very well decorated. you will experience complete peace of mind..
