真的很棒……这里是我去过的最棒的地方!孟加拉湾和整个印度洋相连,令人如痴如醉。这里远离喧闹,嘈杂的都市,对于那些很喜欢大海的人们来说,这里是必去之处。你会很容易地区分开孟加拉湾宁静而又蔚蓝的水域以及咆哮的蓝绿色的印度洋海域。这里距离摩苏摩那有些远,需要坐很久的车才能到达这里,否则你会后悔的。强烈推荐这里!

-偏僻而美丽-不要在雨季或傍晚来参观。-尽量坐吉普车去,不要乘天宝旅行者。-不要乘吉普车进去,

4月24号的时候,我去了泰米尔纳德邦。现在从公交车站停靠的地方出发的话,一辆改装货车要收费2000印度卢比。当然了,这个地方肯定会勾起你伤心的思乡之情……这是一次让人感觉离奇的不真实的经历……一定要在早上的时间去,早上6点到10点之间就可以。慢慢的走,仔细体会这只有泰米尔纳德邦才能带给你的那种感觉。这里的地势很难走,气候也很严酷,但是这趟旅程真的很棒……

这是一个被上帝暂时遗忘的地方。此地被水包围着,没有基本的设施。这里有一座古老的城堡和高架铁路,显得杂乱无章。

I had travelled to Dhanushkodi in February of 2011, the weather was pleasant and an idle time to visit this must-see list making place. Let me paint you a picture: College years, wild personas, to do it all, to visit all untread teriitory, to breach boundaries and freedom, these were the thoughts when we decided to visit this place and quiet rightly so it gives you all that but in a calm and relaxed demeanor.There are old matadoor services to reach the end-point of the mainland from the town, you'll have to bargain with the service providers for a fair price, for us, the driver offered us rides on top of the matadoor holding a string of rope at half price. If you are wild enough, you should definitely try it because these are the things that transforms a journey into an experience(the path is a backwater area with uneven terrain and the vehicle sways a lot; exercise caution). It takes around 20-30 minutes to reach there and you get around an hour to stay. Reaching there is something in itself, you are surrounded with water from 7 out of 8 sides and you can see the shallowness of the sea that leads to Sri Lanka and if you are religious enough you could imagine the Ram Setu. Sri Lanka is effectively 15-20 kms from this point( current home-office distance). Just sit there and relax and take in all the positive vibes and the grandeur of the sea. Its been 4 years since I've been there, need to plan a trip back...

I would suggest to go to this beach during evening time or early morning, as it is really hot during summers and there are hardly any spot where you can take shelter for a minute.Also there is not enough shops on the beach. Fortunately we found a guy selling freshly crushed sugarcane juice which helped us to rehydrate our body and soul. :)

Dhanushkodi beach & Dhanushkodi mentioned on trip advisor as different attractions are actually the same.The only attractions is.. u travel in shallow water, mud & sand...& reach a deserted place...Dhanushkodi....destroyed in Cyclone.Now the negatives......You have to tackle the oparators of Matador at Dhanushkodi....they typically speak tamil...& give seats in the matador kind of cab as per their choice.The pack the cab with passangers as cattle.....{ reminds me Commander Jeep of eastern UP carrying 18 passengers ;)...}Their rate is fixed Rs 100 per passangerThey give u 30 mins to roam around. If you want to enjoy the beach....go i a goup...in 4X4 jeep....It may cost u more but then only u can enjoy. ..otherwise enjoy a typical maxi cab ride ...:)

This place was there in my Travel Bucket list and finally I covered it on December 2014.This place is inhabited and we witnessed the demolished railway station,churches and houses in the town surrounded by water.WE can't get any basic facilities over there.The place can be reached only by a four wheel drive Jeep or VAN.There were local fishermen who were having their own four wheeled drive vehicle to take us to the beach but remember to "BARGAIN".If the weather condition is not good you can't visit it.But after an adventurous ride along the shore we reached there,the sight left us amazed as we witnessed the silent bay of bengal on one side & the vigorous Indian ocean on the other.Its just few miles away from SRILANKA and we even had a site of srilankan island from the shore.A place to see for every traveller in India!!!!!!!!!!!

Although as tourist I had visited many places with tragic stories ( may be 17th Century or earlier) but this place's tragedy is comparatively recent those broken buildings could not stand Tsunami. The beach on the Indian ocean side is nice and clean. One good part is now the mini busus have started plying from the last tar road till the village so there is no necessity of hiring 4x4 jeeps from the city of Rameshwaram.

Coming from Kerala and having visited some beautiful beaches , i thought this will be just another beach .but i was pleasantly surprised. Srilanka is just about 30 km away. It was thanks to my friends that we travelled the almost 700 km trip for just this beach , the pamban bridge and rameswaram. This will be a historic and amazing experience. The ghost town of dhanushkodi is also nearby.You can either walk by foot or better , or better take a mini truck to reach the beach as the area is secluded and it is indeed a long walk !

Great place to see when you visit Rameswaram. Hire a Jeep and the driver will take you the city that was washed away by a cyclone in the 60's. Give yourself about 2 hours and enjoy!

We travelled to be at the historic point, but the trip turned out to be a sheer delight. The 4X4 jeep took us to the road end then in 4X4 mode off into the beach head. As the jeep did not have the self starter working, he kept it a high speed into the dunes of sort with pathway a foot deep into the sand, jeep skidding on wet patches and then straight into the sea. Of ourselves the shallow part with sea water less than a foot deep. In and out of it about four times. The destination is history and the ruins speak a lot, if one has visited others. There is no guide but locals make up for it. One has to visualise the train station, church, some quarters etc and see what devastation a cyclone can bring. The sea makes a unique noise at the beach head and the waves come with fury.. I would have loved to go deeper but without a life guard, one doesnot feel safe. Beach needs to be marked for safety.It is beautiful but the jeep drivers tend to rush you through. Ensure you have two hours or more at destination. Enjoy!p

sun beach....two seas are visible at one place...Sri Lanka is visible from tip of the dhanushkodi beach..it's great experience that too at sun rising time.must watch place....in life time

The place and the beach is awesome... The road to Dhanushkodi is also something exciting.... Only the 4x4 can drive through the murky beach.... There is not much though to explore.... However the view of the dilapidated buildings of the school, temple, church, police station, and station platform, let you imagine a flourishing town till the cyclone came on 1960s.... In short it is a must visit place....

A 20 km ride from the town the metal roads ends and you have to take a jeep or mini bus to about 5 km and you reach the spot. The 5 km ride is through the sands and waters and its a bumpy ride, a little bit scary to ladies and kids. Its a pretty awesome view. The local drivers wont go to the extreme end. You have to walk some time to actually get to the ramasethu. Though we can only see the remnants because of the disaster caused in 1969, its a wonderful view. Ideal time to visit will be in the morning or in the evenings or else you could get really dehydrated in the sun. Carry lots of water. You can also see the remainings of the church and railway station. A small well is there which has pure water and surprisingly not salty though its in the beach. Some local people can be found selling things. There is a small shiva temple, the linga is one of which Sri Hanuman brought from Kailasa. The swamiji there explained the whole story. Dont forget to take a look at the stone there which was used for building the rama sethu which floats in the water. Its heavy actually. Altogether it was a wonderful experience though it was really hot.
