We (family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids - 13y/o and 11y/o) visited Niseko in Dec 2014. We had booked lessons online earlier and on the first day, Damien from FastFun came to pick us up from our accommodation to the office, which is just at the base of the slopes. Hubby had a private snowshoe trek with Damien while the kids and I had ski lessons with Tanja. We all enjoyed ourselves and Tanja was professional, experienced and fun to hang out with. We were skiing quite comfortably on the beginner slopes by lunchtime (we've only every skied once before, in 2013). Hubby also said that the snowshoe trek was very enjoyable. On day 2, we all had ski lessons with Tanja again, hubby included. On the whole I would say that I would recommend FastFun. The instructors and people at the office were great to deal with.
Having settled in to Niseko and got the kids sorted with ski school etc I reckoned it was time to focus on me and how to maximise the time in Niseko. Happened across Fast Fun, who are located immediately below Larry Adler Ski Rental. I had considered the main ski guide/school agency in Hirafu - NBS - but opted for the small and friendly option of FastFun, and am very glad I did. I wanted to get more confident Powder Skiing, and with this brief in mind set off with Elliot, my Aussie instructor/guide. Really impressed by the flexibility, passion and seriouslness with which Elliot approached the afternoon. As a 1:1 session he was able to customise part ski & powder lesson/part guiding/part NIseko history lesson. Given I had never had a formal lesson in my 30 years skiing, the balance of time came down on the lessons, with lots of helpful tips for on and off piste techniques. Thoroughly enjoyable three hours, for a very reasonable price. Thanks FastFun for really making my holiday.
Thanks to Atsushi, Greg and Tanya for a great day of powder at Moiwa! All of them are friendly and helpful, not only showing us our way around the powder but also giving us tips to improve our techniques. And free photos taken from the trip, too. Great service, nice equipments, at a very reasonable price. Will definitely be back next year!
Am experienced skier but wanted a refresher lesson after a few years learning bad habits...Booked a private 3hr lesson with Max his 1st season in Japan but experienced in Europe so i was comfortable with that.Spent first 30mins assessing my skiing style and then worked on a few tips and tricks by the end of the lesson i had made improvement and although 1 day on i am sore from the skiing its only because i got comfortable enough to push myself a little bit more than if i didnt have the lesson.Booking and meetup very easy and no hassle.
We took a morning family lesson. Very reasonably priced compared with the competition. They picked us up for the lesson. Instructor worked at individual pace for each family member and we were all skiing the slopes before the morning was over.
I booked a 3hr pvt boarding lesson with FastFun yesterday afternoon and met my instructor, Tanya at Hanazono. Even though the school's offices are located at the base of the beginner lifts in Hirafu, she agreed to meet me at Hanazono as it was pretty blowy and low visibility (Hana is a bit more protected). We talked about the level I was at and got going straight away, heading up the mountain a few lifts. Within no time she had pointed out a few things I could improve on and we worked on them for a couple of runs. After about an hour I was linking my turns, gaining more confidence and speed and we were taking some great and more challenging runs through the trees.Tanya even took video footage so I could see where I was going wrong with some points of my technique! This was incredibly helpful and I progressed further in an afternoon that I would have over many days normally.Big thanks to Scott and the crew at FastFun and of course, to Tanya!I'll be back later this week to fine tune more!Arigatou Gozaimasu!!!Sam
Throughout February I spent two weeks in Niseko on a family holiday, I've been snowboarding for 3 years throughout Australia and New Zealand. Throughout my previous year of snowboarding I lost all confidence in an accident, because of this I was in need of a lesson. FastFun was suggested to me by my friends, I had a 3-hour lesson with my instructor Sam Bedford, he was able to increase my confidence in riding again and developed my skills to a higher level than what I have ever been, Sam also tort me numerous techniques which enabled me to control my every movement on my board. Throughout the lesson I learnt so much and gained confidence, which made me very comfortable and able to learn more, Sam knows what he is doing, and pushes you to achieve more. Sam also made the lesson very enjoyable, had numerous laughs throughout the 3 hours. I would highly recommend Sam Bedford for a lesson as he has a high quality of skill, and keeps an eye on detail while making the lesson very enjoyable. I was lucky to meet Sam and to have such a great instructor!!!Sam Bedford is a lot of fun with great professionalism, I had a fantastic time!Thankyou FastFun Georgia Mulligan 2014
Hello MarkVery sorry to hear this through this wayBecause our lessons have a different pricing for a full day (JPY 47 000) and half day (JPY 27 000) there is a difference of JPY 7 000 (equals almost 1 free hour!). Although we would grant you lessons not given on any day as a favor to the customer we still have to stick with the terms & conditions. The terms & conditions which you have agreed to on your sign up state: "There will be no refunds in the event that: - Your further participation in the snow sport activity is terminated because of your choice."Because we want to give our customers a more beneficial lesson, I proposed you to upgrade your remaining lesson time into a half day 3hrs lesson as 1hr has almost no benefit, I think I gave you a fair option. As we take feedback seriously we will do our best to inform customers more thoroughly about our terms & conditions and will try to check with the customer how long the lesson should be for according to fitness level and the needsThank you anyhow for your feedback we appreciate it very much!
Good day BillWe are very sorry to hear that the experience with us was not as described by others on Trip advisor. Although we put a lot of efforts in training and educating our own instructor it is out of our hands to control them every time. We take your feedback serious and will have to put even more efforts into "how to teach" for our instructors. I wish you would've informed us meanwhile or after the lesson so we could've offered you either another instructor or a compensation for it. Please let us know through email if we can accommodate you for for example another year!Thank you for your feedback we value it very much.
We did the 3 hour snowshoe activity with the guide Rosa back on 24 Feb 14. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Rosa was very knowledgable and inserted a little bit of 'fun' into the adventure. They picked us up from our hotel, gave us a good brief about what we were doing and where we were going and included tea and a snack half way round! All of us had a great time and have some beautiful pictures to remember the trip by. A worthwhile activity for a day off the slopes.
Recently I spent a week in Niseko on a family holiday, and of course we needed lessons. We were recommended fastfun by the guy who picked us up so we organised ourself a bunch of lessons. I wanted to snowboard and had one on one lessons with instructor Sam B. He was so much fun and really taught me the ropes quickly and made me feel really comfortable. We also just had a great laugh and he pushed me to improve even when I was being a baby. I definitely recommend SAM B, he is the best.It was a fabulous time, great weather and loads of fun!Thank you fastfunn xxxx
A trip to Niseko wouldn't be complete without a snowshoeing experience! This tour is a must especially if you can go when there is a full moon. Rosana and Sam from Fastfun.jp Snow Sports were outstanding guides and knowledgeable about the area. If I had 5 hands I'd give them a 5-thumbs up!
We just got back from a very unforgettable winter holiday at Niseko, Japan. During our 10 day stint there, we have had lots of memorable moments. During our stay there, we committed to taking up snowboarding. Being new to the sport, we had our doubts on how we can pick up the skill in such a short time. Our instructor from FastFun was Samuel Bedford. He was a great instructor, and was very patient with us. He is a very likeable person and is very good at what he does. By the end of the 4th full day lesson, my partner and I were confident in coming down in all green and red slopes of Hirafu. I was shocked how we picked it up so fast. I have skied before in the past but snowboarding was something I thought was difficult for me to pick up. But Sam was patient, and was able to instill the fundamentals in me, in such a short period of time.I am confident in saying now, that I am a snowboarder...Thanks FastFun... Thanks Sam Bedford. Hopefully see you next year, where we can start working on my Ollie, 360 toe grab, ... with a double back flip!!! SNAP!!!!!!
I had never been in snow before, never ridden a snowboard, surfboard, skateboard or anything. Sam our instructor had me boarding down the slopes without stacking it in the first lesson, and I was linking my turns by the second. He was very knowledgable and knew what he was talking about. Highly recommend FastFun Snowsports for anyone who wants to learn to ski or snowboard.
