The weather was terrible, non stop rain for 3 days so we can't tell much about the beach and surrounding islands because we barely couldn't leave our bungalow. We tried 2 different kinds of bungalows: a small one with just one room and one with 2, with a bedroom and living room with sofa. They were both clean and comfortable and both had a small veranda with a couple of chairs. Hammocks would have been great if it would have been sunnier. From the bungalows you can just see many other bungalows, no view to the sea.The food at the restaurant is good, we tried just local dishes and were delicious. Prices were ok.The problem is that the space is not particularly nice: plastic chairs and tables, fluorescent lighting and from the restaurant you can't see the beach either, just buildings that were beaten by the last typhoon and haven't been repaired yet. There isn't any spot where you can be reading or just enjoying the landscape with armchairs or hammocks while looking at the sea. There is just wifi in the front desk and it hardly ever works so it is difficult to plan the trip further from there.Staff is very friendly.

This is just a place to visit just so you would have a look at lodging of Survivor crew. It's in a cove where waves are strong during windy days.If boats cannot dock at the beach, this is reachable from another beach - the Paniman - by a 30-minute tricycle ride.

Gota beach is nestled between lush mountains with some limestones peeking out at the side. Beach is wide with a nice view of the nearby islands. Waves are a little bit bigger that those at Hunungan cove ( right beside Gota beach).

Gota's bucolic setting makes it such an ideal place to relax and unwind. The place is peacefully quiet, you'd only hear the faint splashing of the water over rocks that are strewn in the seemingly private beach as it's hidden by massive boulders of rocks. The quaint cabanas are as homey as a sweet cottage. The food servings are plentiful and tasty. The staff are thoughtful as well. They texted to ask where i can be picked up, and what time. It has a free shuttle van to and from the village. It has an array of fun activities too which include island hoppings to rapelling.

Trash on the beach! Otherwise would have been an excellent beach. The beach is a cove, hemmed in by limestone cliffs, a bit rocky but shallow water. The waves can get very strong.

It feels like i'm one of those casters in this island. Gota is the 1st developed island due to its break through "Survivor Series". Since then there have been developments in this island.I'm A Survivor! Love Ko Caramoan.

We were just about to have a quick stop at the resort but when we saw their cabins it made us stay for 2 nights.. And got a 50% off on our second night... every thing went out well except for the pricey foods. But it's quite understandable due to its location. The Good thing is you can take foods from outside. No corkage was being collected. I love the cabins.. We got a place for 4 pax.. It's a spacious room with couch and working desks but not the en suite bathroom. :-(.. The shower cubicle I even found it too small even for the Asian guests. Anyways It has a small flat screen tv with limited cable channels and small fridge for your foods and water. I'm quite impressed with their clean and comfortable beds and mattresses.. And the clean beach towels as well.About the island hopping , the resort has different activities to offer in a reasonable price. You can check it at their front desk. The resorts staffs and crews were accommodating and respectful which gives us the such comfort of a tranquil gateway.

There was a time they tried to be "exclusive" but decided to open place to the public. basic facilities on the pricey side. rather inaccessible from town.

Aside from the very beautiful paradise-like beaches (special mention the fine sand), Gota Village Resort provides the best customer service, all the staff are very accomodating, courteous, they make sure your concerns are addressed. People here are very nice, they make you feel very special. They have a staff everywhere, everytime you need them. I think this is the reason why they were chosen to host survivor.

We wanted to visit this place because of one thing - in search for pasalubong and memento's we can brong back to manila. It was our bankero who told us that Gota beach has a souvenir shop and he said we can dock and visit the shop but we have to pay the price (entrance fee) we said yesday trip Entrance is staggering 500 pesos/head Beach Front has brown sand, lots of litter is unkempt.the Mangrove forest is the only consolation for me, is was a refreshing walk, but be careful when we went here the walk way is also unkempt, you could see some logs missing here and there. it doesn't look sturdy enough (i hope they have fixed it already)The cottages were kind of amazing it was really landscape to blend in with the environmentthey could offer you rappeling which one thing that you can do in the resort, the room rates are not competitive for me, especially that the beach front is not that stunning.

After a gruelling 12 hrs of trip from Manila,we were so tired and grumpy when we entered the gate of Gota Village. But after check-in and upon exploring the grounds,we were exhilarated and overwhelmed of the most fantastic views we'd seen. I'd say that the island is much more beautiful than Boracay. Especially when the resort's boatmen took us to the Virgin Beach, which is just 5 mins away from the main island,we were so happy and our eyes were so full of tha fabulous scenery that we couldn't stop taking pictures!

I stayed at The Gota Beach Resort, Camsur in Aug 2011 - never again !!! I've been to the Philippines 8 times in recent years, and without doubt this is the worst part of the Phil's I've been to. All of the stereotypical bad traits you expect from 3rd worlders come out in the locals. I've never had any other bad experiences in The Phil's, but this hellhole really put me off the country. The resort itself is well overpriced, a wooden cabin, which is no more than an 8 foot square garden shed, with a built in shower cubicle costing 3500 a night !!!! the resort was effectively closed as there was no one else staying there. To be fair to the resort, it is well maintained with beautiful gardens surrounded by hills and jungle, but none of the facilities were open - bar, shop, restaurant, all closed !!!The beach is in a secluded cove, it's very picturesque and looks out to several islands, but it's very small, and half an hour there is enough.1 night there was enough for me.As for the locals, ie, trike drivers, taxi's ..etc, as soon as they see you are a western tourist, they will increase the price tenfold and not negotiate. As an experienced traveller to The Philippines and SE Asia, I obviously expect a bit of profiteering, but this was excessive and I've never seen so much blatant hatred for a westerner as I saw in Camsur. It's a dump, I'm never going back !!!! Avoid the place and head to The Visayas or Palawan where they have a better understanding of tourism and realise you won't go back if they scam you too much.
