Is a place to stop by. Nothing mayor but nice and historical. The best of everything was the restaurant on front. A private restaurant with a very Cuban style. We feel like really luckies cause Rosi the owner just open for us.
To be able to understand the history of the Revoluntionary period of Cubas history .When we visited there was a school party been given a talk !,It is situated outside the city ,scenic journey .This farm house is the chicken farm from which Fidelity and his comarades launched the attack on the nearby barracks .Blood stained uniforms ,photographs of the slain gives a real feel to the place .The staff seemed more interested in thier work than some of the others we visited ,friendly and very helpful .
We were in Siboney at casa Pepin y Rodolfo La Marina for the second time. They are VERY good, hospitable, kind, friendly, Their food is excelent. And the location is fantastic.
No pictures are allowed. A fee of $5 will be charged if any pictures are taken. It was a glorification of the country's current status. This visit is a very short one as we were driving on the way to the town of Siboney. On the other hand, you can appreciate a beautiful scenic view of the country side outside of Santiago.
This place was awesome. I was well and truly into all the Revolution/ Moncada story after visiting. Lots of info, guided tour was great- relaxed, detailed, evocative. You can't just read about it, you have to go there and try to imagine everyone being addressed by Fidel in such a small room- I was blown away by how emotional and inspirational it was. Definitely go there, 26-7 is too important not to take an interest in! Only 1 CUC I think, plus 5 for the guided tour because he was really good.
This is the farm house that was used by the revolutionaries to plan the attack on the barracks. Four cars were hidden on the grounds allegedly and a number of weapons were also stashed. It's a great place to visit. We arrived 15 mins after it closed but the staff were waiting over the road for a bus which was late and so they opened the museum and gave us a personal tour.
Cuba is living history. You need to know what went on here at Siboney and in the area on the night before Castro attacked theMoncada barracks.(where you must go). Read the books first, remember the students names.Apparently after the attack fiasco Batista placed dead bodies at stops along the road similar ot what happend after the Spartacus revolt failed in Rome.
