We had lunch here, courtesy of the Nevis Tourism Board. Montpelier is a top notch escape. Genteel and refined service with typical friendly Nevis approach. Wonderful food, beautiful accomodations. Recommend!
Really nice place. I'd actually love to stay here but with two young kids the Four Seasons is more convenient. Beautiful though.
We were "gifted" with this trip and opted for Montpelier rather than the Four Seasons and we're so glad we did. It was perfect for us! After two days there, we felt like we were family. The staff goes out of their way to learn your name and greet you by name. They learn your preferences for food and drink and anticipate your every wish. The grounds are beautiful and made for lovely morning walks. The breakfast buffet was bountiful and every meal that we ate at any of the resort restaurants exceeded our expectations. This is a place to come and relax without the hubbub of a resort with a million people. Clearly they do so many things right....we made friends with two other couples there who had come back for 21 years and 15 years respectively. If quiet luxury without pretense is what you're after, you can't find a better place than Montpelier Plantation.
Cocktails in the barrel ceiling great room, dining in the adjoining outdoor room, or, even better, in candlelight in the restored Mill. Quite unbelievable. New chef very good. I had the best piece of mahi I have ever eaten here.
We celebrated our 25th anniversary at the Mill Privee at Montpelier. The Mill is an old windmill turned into a small/exclusive restaurant. You start with drinks and finger foods in the great room before being seated. On our night there were only two couples in the Mill. Food- excellent. Service- superb. Yes, it is expensive, but everything on Nevis is expensive.
This is a gorgeous inn. It is rather formal - being a Relais. The main room is a beautiful place for a drink. The poolside restaurant is more casual dining and my preference
We recently spent a week here in a large one bedroom, or small suite. Accomodations were generous and beautifully decorated ina contemporary style. The grounds are beautiful and interesting and there are nice walks nearby. The wonder was the food -- the young French chef serves imaginative and perfectly prepared meals. Dinner especially was superb. Though we left the premises for a few dinners, I don't know that we would if we returned. The choices at dinner are limited -- seafood, meat and a vegetarian selection, but each is served with great creativity. As others have noted, the management is warm and welcoming and the staff charming. Anyone traveling to Nevis should consider renting a car -- the island is exquisite and there are many beautiful beaches and places to explore. The property is not on a beach - but the beach is adorable and nearly empty every day.
The only bad experience I've ever had on Nevis was having dinner at Montpelier, the staff rushed us, wanted us to decide on our entire meal and wine (!) before we even were seated,,never again!
We went to Montpelier for lunch. Although the design of the hotel was attractive, the bar area was very noisy and the quality of the lunch was poor.
This is a beautiful old house elegantly furnished but with a modern pool bar and lunch restaurant. It is nice to while away the afternoon with lunch or make the effort and go out in the evening for that special meal in the main house. Beautiful pool but did not see the hotel rooms.
Beautifully refurbished hotel and grounds, the art was incredible and combined with the tasteful dining room etc, the whole place was quite stunning...
We went for dinner there and had a very nice meal, the service was great, the setting beautiful, and the food good (but not great).
Fantastic house look at the round room where you can have a romantic meal for two
Montpelier Plantation has one of the most beautiful settings we experienced in Nevis. We weren't staying there, but had dinner twice and the food was excellent. Try their Monday night dinners which feature dishes from a different country every Monday. Also- the property is Relais & Chateaux so you know its good.
This place is cool...if we had stayed overnight on Nevis we would have booked here. SUper vool sugar mill turned dining room...neat gift shop...immaculate grounds and views!
