Speaking as you find, we had a lovely relaxing time here after walking down at 10am after the Sunday service at the church. Some boats in the bay, wonderful swimming for me as in the middle part of the bay it has a shallow part parallel to the shore with just sand where I could stand up if needed. My favourite Caribbean beach. We were on th P&O ship Adonia and had been tendered onto the jetty, we got a speed boat water taxi back to the tender point.

I don't know if that was Will Rogers or Yogi Berra, but it definitely applies to Salt Whistle Bay. It's unique in that you have a narrow strip between the anchorage and the Atlantic side, but it is so crowded with chartered Catamarans loaded with revelers, that it is not a particularly relaxing spot. Maybe I would give this a high recommendation during the offseason, but it is a small area and with too many boats it feels more like a boat show.

We anchored here on a high wind day and it was sufficiently sheltered. Ate at a BBQ on the beach. The food was just OK. My lobster tasted like lighter fluid (a bit). However, overall we enjoyed our night here. Get there early though - it gets crowded. The snorkeling as pretty good.

SALT WHISTLE BAY !!! What a spot, it truly is a gorgeous place..But there is a BIG problem here..the guys who attempt to make a living from ripping off the tourists/yachters...One of our crew had a ittle early day prob with the exchange rate..we had ordered 6 croissants from a guy in a light brown boat called "Mr Surprise". Well surprise surprise!!!!!..when our crew member thought he heard 40 EC dollars per croissant, he paid the guy 240 ECD..thats £10 per bread item !!!! The guy took the money and ran......TOTAL PIRACEY !!! Another guy in this bay ..he has a boat named "Going Green"...Very aggressive, nasty young man..issuing threats of violence to us..obviously drug related...AVOID HIM !!!! My advice don't deal with any of the guys here, its a cozy cartel aimed at maximising the extraction of money from vistorsOtherwise enjoy the charms of this beautiful bay...

We enjoyed our day on the beach. We had a wonderful barbecue on the beach, thanks to Chef Darin, from the Windstar. Another passenger recommended to snorkel on the far side of the beach where parts of rocks can be seen in the bay. This was one of the best areas for snorkeling. We saw a variety of fish - Banded Butterfly fish, French Grunt and Yellowtail Snapper to name a few. My husband watched a shy octopus peeking above a clam shell. A variety of coral can also be seen- fan, tubular and sea eggs and sea urchins. The island dogs were quite friendly during our visit.

It was a lovely sunny day when we got off the tour to see this side of Mayreau, not much people around and the beach was so crystal clear. A great day to spend swimming and snorkeling. If you got your own snorkel set, much better. You don't need to bother to wear any flip-flops or water shoes because the sand and the beach is almost perfectly smooth. There are shops around, just a little up & downhill kind of walk away.

This used to be a real deserted bay with a couple or so of beach bars that were frequented by the yachting holiday makers like us. It was so full this time that people were running into each other trying to anchor - the food and disco on the beach were terrible and the drunken revelries went on well into the night. And this was November. I dread to think what it will be like at the height of the season.

Our cruise ship landed us here with loads of gear needed for a BBQ on the beach. It was pleasant in part enhanced by the cocktails. And the water was inviting and warm. Quite wonderful and what I think the Caribbean beach is all about.

the beach is so pretty, clear waters, calm on one side and rough and wavy loads of reefs on the other, the folks there real friendly, local fish roasted/barbeque, rum punch, bit of a walk up hill and down steep to get to a supermarket/wharf.

Just the tranquility and excellent food or an amazing restaurant in a superb location. Best visited from your own yatch or part of a Caribbean cruise.Dennis & Sandra. Liverpool.

Salt Whistle Bay in my opinion has one of the nicest beaches of the Grenadines. There are only a few sellers around who offer fancy souvenirs and a couple of yachts. The Caribbean sea side is calm and good for swimming or snorkeling. The Atlantic Sea side is rougher and ideal for Kitesurfing.

We just returned from a Wind Star cruise that made a stop at Salt Whistle Bay. They set up a beach BBQ and it was a relaxing afternoon. We did a little snorkeling off the point and it was good and easy to get to. Walked up to the Church for the gorgeous views and realized we should have gone earlier and taken a couple bottles of water.

The most beautiful beach we have ever seen with luxurious warm water which was clean and safe to swim in. we reached this by catamaran and were able to swim ashore.

This bay was full of boats when we went. my family and I much prefer quieter locations. There were a lot of friendly dogs !!
