If you like beaches and swimming then this is a place to visit. Very beautiful sea; in one end by the small stream more locals. The other end with small food stalls is more tourists, sea is also calmet there and better for swimming. Worth a visit if beach is your theme. No other attractions. Accessible by car or roller as well ( in March), end of the road a bit rough. Taxis take 2000 POD for return trip with waiting. The same price goes for boats who are waiting at Las Galeras beach to take you over.

We went on the Safari tour which included the marble mine, a farm, and then on to beautiful Rincon beach for the afternoon. The beach is a few kilometres long and we were dropped off at the far end. The water is gorgeous shades of blue and great for swimming at that end as it's very calm. Beach is a little narrow compared to others I've visited. At the top of the beach off the road entrance it's also beautiful but very rough and wavy. Would definitely recommend a vist to Rincon beach.

Excellent beach, very calm with an gorgeous view. Good for swimming. If you are aiming for snorkelling, forget it... I just was able to see two marine stars.

The beach was beautiful. Great for swimming. When we were there, it wasn't very crowded at all. There are venders on the beach who will try to sell to you, but will leave you alone once you have said no. Be sure to walk to the right side of the beach past the small bar. The beach on that side is gorgeous and was practically empty when we were there.

Gametavern

There are other beaches that are better for swimming. The water is a bit more hazy than other beaches like Cayo Levantado. You're not going to be to see anything while snorkelling so don't bother to get the gear. The rocks about 10 feet out in the water make it tricky to go to and from the swimming parts of the beach.

There is no charge to visit or swim at the beach. If you don't bring your own towe, it will cost you to rent the lounge chairs. The little eatery has the best chicken and tostones! More than enough for a person to eat and feel full! The water was clean and clear. The weather was beautiful in Feb. To have to mountains in the back ground really makes this place unique. Bring sun screen, even if you tan well. I am Dominican and I burnt. There are two large puddles you may have to cross. Use an SUV or high car. Drive slowly or you will drown out your car.

We stopped here on two of our excursions. A beautiful secluded beach untouched by commercialism. Only a small thatch roofed restaurant/bar was a welcoming break to have a nice cold beer and dip in the ocean to cool down.

Long beach that I'm sure is lovely on a sunny day, it was raining for us so it looked nice but not as fabulous as some said it was. We also couldn't get all the way to the beach with our rental car. About the last 300 was underwater and didn't want to chance getting stuck in it but did walk the large puddle.Traveling by rental car is not a problem as the road is good enough all the way there and on a dry day, could have made it onto the beach. Was a lot cheaper by car than by boat and it was also an interesting drive out there

It´s wonderfull beach. I was afrait only two times but when I will have chance to come again I will come and I hope that I will. ;-) Here is very good restaurant. We eat here fresh fishes. It was amazing. Also we taste fantastic ananas pinacolada. I think that this beach is magic charming. I met here with my love. You can try kajak here is good place for swiming. You can bye here best cocos oil, dominicans cigaret, fantastic magic statues of wood, beautiful and big, various seashells and mainly you can feel here very relax and happy because it is playa Rincon. When you come in Samana, you have to visit this place. I recommend it. ;-) :-* :-)

We drove from las galeras. The ride wasn't too bad. The last mile of the drive is very bumpy. When you reach the beach, you can go left or right. If you go left: you end up at cano frio. There are a small bunch of restaurants. The food is delicious. I ordered the fish. It was $400RD and came with tostones and rice. The beach chairs cost $150RD per chair. The beers are large and cost only $100RD. The beach here is full of seaweed and some sort of jumping sand bugs. It's not as nice as the other side. No one was playing in the water here. They offer rides up the river in an old boat. I watched people go and then they came back ten minutes later. It seemed sort of pointless. If you go right: you end up at this beautiful beach. Here, there a couple of restaurants. The main one at the end has amazing food, I ordered the fish and octopus. Both were amazing. Make sure you ask the prices prior to ordering. The beach here is very very nice. Rent a beach chair for $150 RD. A lot of people in the water here. Overall, the beach is amazing. Just don't wander away from others or else you'll get mugged and cut with a machete. Stay on the beach near others and use common sense and you'll be fine. Make sure you save stomach space to eat. Bathrooms are present but not nice

This is an extremely long beach (around 6 km) , but you can actually use max 500 m of it - the locals are telling you that you are not advised to walk after certain place because someone might steal you. So, there are only two places where you can have lunch, one place to buy coconut and that's it. We were the last visitors on the beach and we did not leave that late- around 17,00h. Not that I prefer crowded beaches but is becomes a little creepy when you are the only visitor on the whole beach. otherwise the beach and the water is wonderful as it is everywhere in DR. On the way to Rincon we stopped in one of those places where they are offering you to try some local things they produce- fruits, cigars, mamahuana, etc. This one is definitely worth it- but be careful sometimes they might try to sell you the products at much higher prices than they cost in the shops.

This beautiful area is well known for price gouging the tourist. Even Anthony Bordain of the Travel Channel. The several restaurants on this beach either change names or something else to avoid being directly named. Ask for the prices up front. They do speak english. And they can give you the price. Don't be lulled into ordering anything without knowing the prices. Otherwise; you could be in for a BIG shock. Have a great time; just beware of this common practice.

There was a storm the day before and there was literally a 3 ft tall pile of seaweed across the entire beach and tons in the water. I don't imagine it's always like that, but don't go after a storm! In spite of that, you can tell it's still a really awesome beach (normally) and it has a beautiful clear river that feeds into the ocean right at the beach with the added bonus of making the water refreshing (but not at all cold).

We ended up here at the end of a bus tour that saw us exploring a local farm and a marble mine . This place is at the end of a bumpy road and appears out of nowhere like an oasis . Plain and simple this place is not for the spoiled . The only bathroom had tipped over in a storm . That being said it is a beautiful untouched piece of paradise . There's the usual vendors around and a small restaurant / bar for drinks and some food . Water is gorgeous , scenery is breathtaking ..

Took a while to get to over a difficult last piece of road. Scenery is magnificent but the lack of facilities and sulforous smell from the seaweed make it difficult to enjoy for any length of time. This beach is crying out for some investment, public or private. Clean bathrooms, some sort of regular cleaning of the beach from seaweed and a road upgrade could really turn this into a nice attraction. It is too remote for real tourist development and that is not necessary, but some investment would go a long way toward making this beach a must-see.
