Nice beach, I can see how its very family friendly. We took a walk around the beach and got some great shots of the beach and ocean.

Good beach for family and kids, would pay the 5 dollars for parking. Spent about and hour and walked along the beach, coconut water was the highlight. Unless you have time to spare and its not out of your way, would be a good place.

This beach is truly beautiful. It is well worth a stop after the National Forest. When we went it was not too busy to really enjoy. Take the time to explore the food stalls with a local medalla in hand. Many great things to eat and at unbelievable prices.

Me and my boyfriend recently went to the balneario in luquillo beach planning on camping there and when we arrived it was totally abandoned. The campgrounds were completely overgrown, facilities shut down, we didn't even get to experience the beach because we were so preoccupied with trying to find a place to stay that night. I am warning everyone, do not go there with the intent to stay overnight.

The beach was part of a tour we were on. We spent a couple hours walking the beach. Water was a little chilly but clear and pretty. The beach is clean and everyone was friendly. There is a restaurant that sells food, drinks and piña coladas inside a pineapple right by the beach...yum!

Luquillo is bizarre. Monserrate is an excellent beach and I enjoyed the kiosks, but during the winter months the area is DEAD and downright spooky, as there are a ton of buildings for sale and the area is largely abandoned as it only gets busy during the summer months as that is where Puerto Rican's vacation. The downtown is NOT an area you want to be walking around at night. During the day it's fine but besides Aroma's coffee bar there isn't much to do. I would NOT plan for an extended stay in Luquillo, maybe a day trip for the beach/kiosks but I'd go crazy there longer than two days.

We stay in Isla Verda but always rent a car to visit this beach. There are no waves and it is clean and beautiful. There is also a food stand (used to be a little hut years ago) that make cuchifritos and their alcupurrias are the best. The beach has parking ($4) and bathrooms with lockers and showers; I was surprised at the new $1 fee but worth it even though it can use a serious upgrade. You can rent chairs and umbrella's too. The beach amazes me because while there are palm trees you can see the mountains of the Rain Forest. Just a beautiful and peaceful place to be.Oh before I forget - the Pina Colada's at the food place are the Best!

This is the best beach in San Juan. The waters are calm and clean and you can snorkel at the end of the beach where the water gets deeper. There are chair rentals, a gift shop and a great snack bar with $2 empanadas, $5 151 rum pina coladas and $ tequila shots. There is a locker room with showers and bathrooms ($1 for the day). Great for families as well. 1/2 hour ride from Isla Verda and near Fajardo and El Yunque.Strip of restaurants just outside the beach area but go east a bit for the best mexican food at lolitas

We went on a windy day, so it was not that great. The food kiosks were recommended to us as a very Puerto Rico experience, but I'd say they were nothing too special.

After visiting El Yunque, my guide took me to Luquillo Beach. The sand was a lovely golden color. I collected some for my sand collection.

One of the best beaches in Puerto Rico!. For me the best part of the island is the east coast and their beautiful turquoise waters!. Luquillo is a great place to be with your family, friends, or in couple. There is very clean restrooms with showers, BBQ and puertorican restaurants (don't forget to try the "pinchos and with ají" is you love the spicy as I am, and the "alcapurrias" my favorite of jueyes). The water is very calmTo swim and relax all day long!... Don't forget to try a piragua!

Visit Luquillo Beach today and it's absolutely beautiful. My fiancé and I attempted to snorkel but the waves kept pushing the sand up but they have reefs; we were told they were beautiful as well. We enjoyed the water. We met a gentleman name David who kept bringing us Coconuts. Super sweet but may seem a bit too friendly at first. There are hotels near by. we opted to stay in an isolated area. You must visit!

The beach is nice and the waters are calm. Plus you can visit all the food stands for lunch and dinner. After dark I would not recommend visiting as safety can be an issue (just like everywhere else in PR). But for a day trip this is a highly recommended spot for a family or a group of friends to relax. Watch your things though… bags do come up missing if left un attended.

We came here after a visit to El Yunque to relax and we were pleasantly surprised. The beach was very clean and sand was very nice. We walked to an area where people tended to congregate and left our stuff on the sand while we went into the water. We never felt unsafe leaving our stuff on the sand as everyone around seemed very friendly. The waves are were not too rough so we spent 2 hours here. Getting here by car was fairly easy as you can start to see the coast from the highway and we just got off at a random exit. Parking was easy to find, as we just drove towards the coast until we saw a open dirt area where others were parked (it was also free).
