beautiful flowers an gardens with falls as main attraction. Museum was small but ok. $20 US/ adult (seemed a little pricey for what we got).
This garden and falls is exceptionally beautiful. There is no hurry - you don't need to use the guides if you want to walk around by yourself. We couldn't climb the waterfalls, not just because we were too scared, but because we didn't have the shoes so we had to use the steps. The views were the same - stunning and a rival to the very commercial Dunns River Falls. We walked from Ocho Rios quite safely and enjoyed a day without hassle.
Horticulture is my things and the gardens are spectacular. There is a $20 admission fee and a guide adds you to a group once you are inside the gardens. Our guide was OK, but we were added to a large cruise ship group, so a real horticultural tour was not possible. The guide left when the cruise people departed. We explored the falls on our own and it was the highpoint of the visit. The little museum was also worth a visit. We had a driver who knew the territory and waited for us. A real plus.
It is beautiful here with so many different kinds of plants and trees and the water falls are spectacular.A great day to have a wander round but lots of steps.I love it there. Also Shaw Park Gardens in the same vicinity.
Another must see if you find yourself in Jamacia . Beautiful flower gardens very well informed tour guides put this on your must see list
took a taxi for $20 each (4 of us) round trip, he came back at a pre set time, paid him AFTER. about 10 minutes from town, had a fine tour with a guide, the flora and fauna well explained, the falls just beautiful. A nice two hour experience for half the price! Admission was $20 each.
Wow, had this place to ourselves and loved every moment! Go go go!!!!! Plan on staying for a couple hours to really take in all the gardens and the waterfall, as it is $25 entry.
Gorgeous and uncrowded! Andre our museum and botanical gardens guide was well informed, articulate, and very personable. The museum was fascinating, recounting the history of Jamaica, and the flora and fauna beautiful. Kenroy, our Falls guide kept us all generally on track (without making us hold hands and climb in a row!) we felt very safe, and some tried more challenging ascents, while others took an easier path, all with the ability to grab a hand from Kenroy if we needed it.
The museum is small but is quite interesting. The gardens and very lush and beautiful. There are quite a few birds in cages and a koy pond. It's a great place for taking pictures.
Loved that area when I visited in 2008Jamaica is all about hospitality and natureThe falls and water area are fun to exploreBeware of deep holesYou ll love the jungle Beware of those funny cigarettes It's tolerated but not an open smoking country
Visiting Coyaba River Garden and Museum was one of our stops, for our excursion day, off the cruise ship. It took a little more than an hour to take the tour around the gardens. There is also a small museum to visit as well. We were stuck in the museum for about a half hour as there was a very heavy rainstorm on this day. A nice variety of plants to take pictures of, and to learn about as well. Also a couple of places to purchase some small gifts. Glad we took the tour.
This is off the beaten track and has pretty gardens and a museum and waterfall. The walk to the falls was exhilarating. Quiet compared to Dunns River!
Helpful staff, unlike Dunns. Better waterfall, peaceful gardens. Stroll around at your leisure in peaceful surroundings
My fiancé' and I wanted to visit a local garden and were not at all disappointed. We got caught in a rain downpour but it didn't detour our guide or us in enjoying to wonderful vegetation. We lucked out in there there were not many tourists around which made it feel like a very personal tour. Be prepared for an entrance fee and a "tip" for your guide.
We wanted to visit somewhere while in Jamaica that wasn't too touristy and wanted to see waterfalls (have already done Dunn's River). We really enjoyed our private tour of the gardens and seeing the beautiful waterfalls and outlook over Ochos Rios! Would highly recommend! Great place to take lots of photos!
