This beach is secluded and has huge rocks. It is shallow and not rough. Perfect for young children. Facilities include restrooms and food/refreshments. You can rent snorkeling equipment as well. Lovely for families.

It was far too cold to go swimming so when we made it to Tobacco Bay we were the only people there. The view was amazing and it was nice to sit on the rocks and listen to the water. I realize the beaches are closed for the winter but the garbage should have been picked up. It was disgusting to see so much garbage sitting on the beach - even if it's not useable at that time.

We visited in winter (January), so everything was closed - no food, bathrooms, rentals, etc. But we didn't mind - it was a little too cool to swim the day we visited, but we enjoyed just walking around and looking at the view. If it had been a little warmer, it would have been perfect - we didn't see anyone else even drive by in the 30 minutes we were wandering around - our own private beach. I can see how this would be a great place in the summer...it seemed like it was a very protected, fairly calm bay, and it sounds like there's great snorkeling. But it's also listed in all the guidebooks as one of the most beautiful beaches on the island (for good reason!), and the actual beach isn't that large, so I bet it gets crowded quickly. But in winter? Perfect!*if you like my review, I hope you'll click the 'helpful' button; those of us who write reviews live for those and it motivates us to do more :) *

I totally disagree with the reviewer below - the off-season is a great time to go!! We had the beach and the bay 100% to ourselves - did not see another soul in the area the whole time we were there (about 30 minutes). The beach is small, but there's more to see than just that. We walked past the beach towards the point, and were rewarded with amazing views of natural rock formations in the water. Standing here gave me a much better understanding of why Bermuda was regarded as so treacherous and there were so many shipwrecks. The rocks lay in wait under the water and stick up at random intervals. I can't imagine taking even a kayak out here! I had read that this was one of the most beautiful beaches in Bermuda so we decided to walk from St. George's, and it was worth it! All amenities (food, bathroom, etc) were closed in the off-season, so plan accordingly.*if you like my review, I hope you'll click the 'helpful' button; those of us who write reviews live for those and it motivates us to do more :) *

We rode our scooter all the way to the other side of the island to see this beach, but were not able to enjoy it. It was full. And by full, I mean there were barely any space available to even walk around. The beach is nicely separated by reefs from the ocean, so the water is very calm. That said there were so many people in the water, I think all of the fish got scared.I prefer to swim with plenty of space, so I was not impressed. That said, the beach is in a very beautiful location, but I wouldn't want random beach-goes in my vacation pictures, blocking most of the view - lol!

The beach isn't maintained in the off season: the seaweed is deep and stinky, there's lots of garbage, and it's not worth the trip.

Simply breathtaking... so beautiful, and only a short walk from the St. George's Club where we were staying...

This is a fabulous beach - small but very sheltered. Swimming and snorkling is very safe. The best fish were beyond the rocks. The beach café is closed between November and March so you will need to bring a picnic but there are sun beds available so you can soak up the ambience very comfortably

The limestone rock formations caught our vision as we walked towards the small and secluded bay which we had all to ourselves since their were no cruise ships landing. We had some lovely view of fish and corals as we swam towards the right side in between the rocks. There is a drop in the ocean floor and whop the view is outstanding, brain coral, giant rod coral, deep purple fan coral and of course the elusive striped parrot fish and many more. After drying out we also climbed on the rocks and got some lovely photos of a heart shaped hole.We were at the Grotto Bay and they allowed us to take the snorkeling equipment. The restaurant was closed.

This is a fab little bay but get there early as it is popular with the locals and the cruise ships drop their cargo of here too!!! We got here early morning and were happy to stroll back into St Georges by the time it started to pack out. Good facilities as well.

My husband and I love the snorkeling at Tobacco Bay and it is an amazing place when it isn't too crowded. Even when it is crowded, you can get away from the crowds in the water. We have ordered food a few times from the restaurant there and it was really good and priced well, especially for Bermuda. We also rented a paddle board one day and that was a lot of fun. This year was our second visit to Bermuda and it seems like there might have been a change in management at the beach. Some of the new staff members are a bit obnoxious, basically standing around doing nothing when they could be cleaning up the beach area- it was a lot dirtier than last year with bits of plastic and lots seaweed on the beach area. They do tend to blast the music a bit too loud as well. However, I will say that the bartender and the cook on the days we were there were both great, it's just the other staff members who seem to not have enough to do who are rather annoying; I wish they'd help clean up the beach. The bathrooms are clean though so that's a definite plus!

Nothing as clean and the beauty of nature like any thing I have seen in a long time the walk was alittle far to get to but it is all worth it once you get there and I ost to see St. Gorge

We rode the bus over here while in Bermuda on a cruise. It really was not crowded at all...I think many people go immediately to Horseshoe Bay and bypass any other beaches. It is located at the northern most tip of Bermuda, so the drive from the cruise port is a little longer but worth it! The snorkeling is fantastic here! There are rock formations coming out of the water all around the swimming area, which prevents any large waves from coming into the area. You can rent snorkel equipment and chairs here too.

The kids loved Tobacco Bay. It was easy to get to from the St. George Club and it was not crowded. The water was very nice and clear.

This was an amazing choice for us, there was 5 of us, we trotted off the train and down a bit to the absolutly amazing beach. the water was so clear and warm. We rented these pallet chairs (which i am having my hubby make me one) under this covered area, not sure why we all needed a chair because we were in the water the whole time, the drinks at the bar we amazing. the bathrooms were very clean and so was the beach, these people sure know how to take care of their beach and that is very important. Next trip this is our 1st stop and we are staying all day!
