arnprior & district museum

I stopped into this museum while traveling the Ottawa Valley and found this museum was full of Arnprior and area history.It is not a large museum but it is interesting and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The museum is located in what was formerly an early 20th century post office which in itself is an historic, sandstone and architecturally interesting building. The museum is a most interesting journey of a town that was in its time one of the commercial centres of the beautiful Ottawa Valley. The narratives, exhibits and artifacts are excellent and most informatively and interestingly arranged by the volunteer staff. Worth a visit which is enhanced by the breath taking vistas of the Ottawa River.

We have one of the best museums around, changes items yearly, so you can keep going back time after time. Most enjoyable for everyone
