I love this little course. The views are fabulous. The clubhouse is well maintained and the price is reasonable. I suggest taking a cart as it is rather hilly.
Lowville is a very nice course for a all handicap ranges. It is a little shorter from the whites than I usuaklly play and so even when I missed a few tee shots I was still in range to get to the green in regulation. The course is in very good shape and our bump during the round was an UP TIGHT marshall who got on our back while on the 16th green, yikes. I still recommend it as a nice track and locale for a round.
We golfed early in a foggy morning. It was fun to golf on a course that we did not know and that was foggy. The downside was that we did not get to see the beautiful scenery well. The fog cleared up enough that we did see Toronto in the distance. The course was in excellent shape and the starter, Gary Gesner was very helpful and friendly. The course was challenging as the holes were on many different levels (hilly terrain), and you do need a cart if you want to keep up your energy for the last holes. The signage to the different holes was well marked. Will go back and hopefully on a sunny day so we can better see the landscape.
This golf course is located in the town of Lowville, a beautiful little village setting on the side of the Niagara Escarpment. Don't forget to take your camera with you as you will see some beautiful sights from the higher elevation holes no matter what time of year you play. the fairways are narrow in a lot of places so you have to play this hilly curse with care or it will jump up and bite you.Clubhouse has been renovated and the staff are great.
Great, challenging course, not to punishing but to shoot a decent score you do have to think your game thru. Built into side of escarpment so I'd recommend a gold cart, you'd have to be a mountain goat to walk this comfortably. Great facilities, course recently had some layout changes, haven't played it since but looks like grass is in and with all the rain this year filling in well.
