What to do with my 2 grandsons aged 5&7 who had a day off school? Richardson's Farm is a wonderful day in the country. The games and Mazes that are all part of the very reasonable entrance fee, gave the boys hours of creative fun. They shot little pumpkins from a large slingshot into a big open field, searched through mazes for clues to a puzzle, played on the top of the hay maze and enjoyed the large operational shovel digger. Getting up close and personal with goats and a sweet calf were unexpected experiences. Farmer James and his family (6th generation at this farm) are true examples of how hard and dedicated today's farming families work, and the pride the show. His 8 year old son helped us on and off the hay wagon and his daughter and wife man the gift shop/snack bar where you can buy snacks like freshly baked muffins, pies to take home, condiments and of course, local Ontario produce.
