My husband & I did "introduction to fat biking". What a great experience with Sara. We are hooked on the sport. Thanks Ride Guides!!
Sara and Matt made our introduction to fat biking a great an awesome experience. Everything was organized and ready for us when we met at Horseshoe Resort, The instruction and patient coaching really helped. Our ride through the Copeland Forest trail was beautiful and the conditions excellent. We are hooked and plan to do this again. Highly recommended for anyone that wants to learn what the fat bike craze is about.
My experience with Ride Guides was fantastic from beginning to end. Inquiries and booking was a breeze. Sara was extremely organized. I booked a private guide for 4. We ranged in experience from not been on a bike since grade school to a mountain bike enthusiast. Sara guided us through the beautiful forest trails that managed to accommodate all of our skills. Sara has us out for longer than our 2 hour booking time, and she even organized a dip in the hot tub après ride. Very reasonably priced and well worth the money. I would highly recommend this adventure!
Sara took my husband and I out on a 2hour tour around hardwood hills... we are amateur cyclists but wanted to try something new. She is SOOOOO nurturing and patient. By the end of it she had my husband going off jumps and bridges...It was such a nice break to shake things up and try something other than road cycling. You can bet we will be back- maybe in the fall before the snow, and after the mosquitos die off ;)
On July 30, we arrived at Horseshoe Valley Resort for the Introduction to Cross Country Ride Guides excursion. Our instructor Sara gave us a demo of basic MTB skills and lots of encouragement. Our group included myself and two teenage boys, all at different skill levels. Sara took us out to trails in the Copeland Forest and each member of our group tried trail features that matched our individual skill level. We all had a great and challenging time!
On Saturday July 5th we had a fantastic day at the Ride Guides Skills Boot Camp at Buckwallow. Matt, Sara and Tim were awesome! There were great explanations and demos of MTB skills which we practiced off-trail and then we got to use them on the trails. We were challenged to try trail features we would never have considered before and we did them! The whole day was well-organized, lunch was great, trails were fun. I think everyone really enjoyed the day. On the trip home, we talked non-stop about the things we accomplished outside of our comfort zones. We highly recommend Ride Guides! Thanks again Matt, Sara and Tim!
Sara has been our guide for an amazing 2 day single-tracks session, and I must say everything has been perfect from A to Z. Sara has been an awesome guide over these 2 days, teaching us some technical skills we never learned by ourselves (even after a few years of practice), taking us to trails we would never had experienced by ourselves, listening carefully to our needs and expectations, providing awesome sandwiches for lunch breaks (you know the value of this!), sharing her experience and skills, and challenging us! If you want to practice with fun AND gain experience, that's your best choice.
I needed some crash mountain biking instruction before a trip out west to meet some friends who are much more experienced riders. I got that and more with Sara at Ride Guides yesterday. After an exhilarating four hour ride I was confidently handling the Copeland Forest's single track trails, and seeing a huge improvement in my skills. And the forest itself was absolutely beautiful and peaceful, we didn't see anyone else on the trails the whole morning. Sara was a great guide and riding companion, and I plan to be back with my family in tow. Highly recommended, the most fun I've had in a while!
My first experience riding in the Copeland was truly amazing. Not only is the forest’s network of single track trails one of the best & biggest in Ontario but also Matt Trotter of Ride Guides is intimately familiar with the trails and was able to lead us on a 3 hour route that included everything that I love above riding -- technical switchbacks, punishing climbs, fast drops, and tight twists and turns. Matt quickly got a sense of my riding level and catered to it. If you want to ride in the Copeland and are not familiar with it, don’t do it alone. A) You’ll get lost & B) your experience will be greatly enhanced by a skillfully guided tour by Ride Guides. Thanks again, Matt!
Mountian biking is a wonderful and engaging sport but what really makes it is the environment and of course the people you ride with. Rides Guides has all that! First of all our guide was very friendly, knowledgable and spirited. We loved the trails as they flowed through the forest and presented an interesting mix of landscapes. If your in the area and looking to get out for some fun and adventure Ride Guides will deliver.
