I took my 4 year old and she had tonns of fun!It is a shaded park with Merlin's tower, an old mill, fairy tale houses where you can see Snowhite and the dwarfs, Red riding hood, Goldie locks and Hanzel and Gretel. The dwarf play house is great with it's 3 slides of different sizes.Suspension bridge is lots of fun to run on as well.Besides, there is the castle itself - with the moat, draw bridge, tower and the dragon!True, the place is old and could use a little paint job here and there. And there is a started playhouse in the works, but unfinished. But your little one does not see the cracks in the paint. Your little one sees the scary magician Merlin and the wolf impersonating Red's granny! We had to come back upon my daughters request.
The place is a hole... Actually charged a 33 and a 32 year old an entrance fee for the kiddy land and they didn't have kids... The owners said it would be exciting!!!!!! Ya right.. No wonder they can't sell the place.
The gift shop is awesome but prices are a little high. But, when as you enter the basement, you can start to feel the middle ages scent. The pistols, daggers, armors, guns, weapons, etc, are exact replicas of the real thing. In the park, there is a Snow White Wishing Well with natural water from deep underground that hasn't been chemical- ized. There is an awesome bridge and lots of fairytale houses, there is even an ice- cream parlour in Hansel and Gretzels Candy House. Fun place to travel!
The place is a bit rundown, with multiple unfinished exhibits (wire mesh dinosaur I think they were going to pour concrete onto but never did, along with another wire mesh house), but my daughter had fun for an hour or so, mostly on the bridge and the dwarf play area. There is a small walking path along the back of the property but there really is nothing to see there other than a big rock to take pictures on.You can tell the place has been there forever, it's just a shame they haven't kept it up along the years. With that being said, it's safe and clean fun for younger kids for an hour or two, and frank for $3, it's not a big deal either way.
Came across this place on the internet while researching attractions in Midland. I had 3 grandchildren for the afternoon, ages 2 1/2, 6 and 7. This place was perfect for the littlest guy, and just enough for an hour-and-a-half for the oldest. The castle is pretty impressive for the age group, with a moat with "real water" as they enthused! The Enchanted Village has child-sized houses depicting scenes from many of the most well-known fairy tales, which are viewed from outside, through the windows. The highlights for my guys were the dwarf's sliding area (4 different slides) and the suspension bridge. There are picnic tables and a large sand box with some sand toys, and a short nature trail. The gift shop had a wide selection, so inexpensive souvenirs were possible. At $3 admission per head, it was money well spent.
This castle is up for sale by the owner. Lots of product at very good prices for sale. Lots of deals foe one off gift ideas.
This place is getting a little rundown, but is still interesting for little ones. There are several buildings/exhibits which depict fairy tale characters and have been done with attention to detail. It is in a shaded park like setting, beside the castle building with some playground equipment.
I love this place. Ever since we have visited the Midland area we came by this place. I have a photo of my dad and myself on that dragon outside, and took the same one of my kids and I and framed them both together. The gift shop has a bit of everything and a big selection. The kids loved he enchanted kingdom and were freaked by the dungeon, so it still works no matter how old it is. I love it. It's like a bit of Niagara Falls Clifton hill in Midland! It's a must see!
Great place to find that odd gift your looking for. The dungeon downstairs is not to be missed. Items priced very well.
I used to go here alot when I was a kid. Still very cool. I bit costly for what it is if you want to go into the park but the buildings are nice and there is lots to do for the kids with imagination. Sorry to hear that they were selling :(
This is a cute place for families with small/younger children. We didn't go through the park or do the Medieval Museum. We took a small tour there to check out the Dracula's Dungeon and for the cost ($2.00ea) it was a short but fun attraction. Nothing jumps out at you or grabs you but there are still a couple spots that make you jump a bit.The castle is the entrance and has a gift shop that has many different options to choose from for souvenirs and trinkets.
We spent a few hours looking at the houses that the owner had recreated from familiar fairy tales. They also have a neat slide and sandbox as well as a long bridge that my kids must have run across ten times. They are even expanding their Forrest walk. Definitely spend a few hours there if you have children between the ages of 4 and 9, or older. Bring a coffee and a snack and enjoy.
If you want a really special place to have a party for your kids, this is it. Summer is the time though, they can run around into all the houses and have a great picnic!
My almost 2 year old loved the suspension bridge and the slides. I'm sure she will enjoy the fairy tale portion when she's a bit older. I wouldn't take older children here though. Take it for what it is. A place for kids to let off some energy. I enjoyed myself as well. It was a pleasant surprise.
We took the grandchildren here while visiting my mother in the beautiful town of Midland Ontario. This is a great place for the kids to burn off some energy. The castle itself features a gift shop filled with an array of trinkets and collectibles. Watch the kids in here because there are alot of breakables! The downstairs of the castle used to be a haunted dungeon type thing, but I'm not sure if it's still there as our grands are quite young so we stayed out of the castle this time around. The enchanted kingdom in back of the castle is a great place for the kids to climb towers, slide down slides, play in the sand pit, walk the suspension bridge, visit the homes of various story book characters and peek in the windows to see Goldilocks and the three bears, little red riding hood, teddy bears picnic etc. There is a trail into the woods where kids can discover trees to hug, boulders to climb and burn off some energy. Fresh water is available at the wishing well, and there are picnic tables for those wishing to bring a lunch or snacks. This place has been around for awhile, we used to bring our kids here and were happy to carry on the tradition now with the grandkids. The place is up for sale but still open..I hope whoever buys this treasure continues on with the park. This place has great potential!
