This park on the outskirts of Waterford is popular with fishermen and has an unusually large proportion (over 80%?) of the sites occupied by permanent seasonal campers, who have all the best sites. The sites available for travellers are not waterfront, some treed, some in an open field. There are no serviced sites. The washrooms do have hot and cold water and showers, but they are old and could use renovation and painting. There is a small swimming area, and the ponds are pleasant for canoeing and kayaking. Waterford itself is an attractive village, and there are excellent walking and bicycling trails in the area. This park provides a quiet alternative to the busier parks near the Lake Erie shore. It would be nice to see them invest a bit in improving the facilities but I'm not holding my breath - things seem to be a bit frozen in time here.

There's a few too many human-eating insects for my liking - but it IS a conservation area. The view is quite nice - and the pavillion is so nice for a family or school reunion. I don't fish - but it seems that many do like to do that here. Lots of space and lots of parking. It's a nice little park. (My grandfather operated the crane that took the gravel out of the "lake" so maybe I'm a little bit biased.)

My husband and I went to Waterford North Conservation Area for our honeymoon in July 2012. The park has a couple big ponds. One with a beach area divided off for swimming. We caught a lot of fish. The campsite was a good size and the price wasn't outrageous or anything. Overall it was a beautiful park and we had a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend it.
