A nice theatre with free parking. The place gets good shows especially local opera. Worthy looking what's on if you are in the area.

This theatre fits many people, but has an intimate feel to it. All the staff were very friendly. The seats are really comfortable. We sat in the orchestra, row E, centre section. This was the third row from the front. Row D is wheelchair accessible and has a ton of leg room for everyone. However, we had enough leg room where we were sat. There is plenty of free parking and getting out of the car park was not crazy either (even on a day where it hadn't stopped snowing!)We went to see Revolution: Symphonic Beatles II, presented by the Richmond Hill Philharmonic Orchestra. We are not huge Beatles fans, but I do like their music. A friend of ours was in the orchestra so we went to support him. I was blown away by the talent. Everyone was fantastic. The singers were amazing - I could listen to them sing all day. They played bass/guitars and also had a drummer and keyboard player - both of which are hugely talented. They all clearly loved performing. The conductor was fantastic - warm, with a sense of humour. The Orchestra made my soul dance. My fav of the night was Let It Be. It got me and I was crying throughout the whole song - absolutely beautiful. The show start at 8pm with a 15 min intermission. It finished around 10:20pm. Music is so powerful, especially when it is live. Seeing the whole orchestra on stage and listening to them together with the singers was fantastic. If you have a love of music don't miss out on a show like this. The acoustics were fab. It was a real treat, and great value for money. From what I gathered this is the second annual Beatles night that the orchestra has done so maybe it will be back next year. Look out for it! Check the schedule as the Philharmonic Orchestra also do various other shows throughout the year.

RHCPA is a beautiful, modern facility. The performance area has a cozy intimate feel. They have a great selection of performers throughout the year. They promote performing arts in children and youth community.Plenty of parking available, and the facility is wheelchair accessible.

This theatre is well laid out. No bad seats. Usually there for our children's school band events, so can't really speak to quality of performances, but venue itself is very nice.

I like the feel of the small theatre....made you feel a part of the performance. Comfortable seating and great sound and layout.

This is a modern, upscale, venue for everyone! I have been to plays, Dance Comps, and other large scale performances. Very comfortable seating. Clean and nearby washrooms.

We've attended a number of performances at this centre over the past couple of years. It's really nice to attend performances in the our neighborhood. This Centre is in a great location. We've shown up to performances about 30 minutes before start time and always found free parking in the Centre's lot. We've sat second row from the stage, to the right corner third row to left side five rows back and were always happy with the seatingand view of the stage. This Centre always has some really good performers in its schedule. I'm always keeping an eye out for upcoming concerts here.

I was at the above location last night for my granddaughter's dance recital. I was also there last year.Barely enough parking for the theatre. Coming in at the parking entrance there is not enough space to move let alone sit down. Going further along to get an expensive drink, there are not enough tables and chairs and it seemed very hot and crowded. If you go along the Yonge Street side with all the lovely glass it became cold and we had to wait 1/2 hour to be able to go get our seats. We were with my grandson who was tired to begin with and he had to sit on the dirty floor; there were no chairs to accommodate people. The theatre is fairly nice but the rows don't go down enough so that people can see over one another's heads. If cinemas can do this, why can't a theatre do this. Also, washrooms could only accommodate one person at a time. For a theatre of this size, this is nonsense.I know it's a neighbourhood theatre but the price of the tickets were not neighbourhood prices.

We moved to Richmond Hill 5 years ago , I have made it a point of buying at least 3 different events every season since we came. The venue is really quite beautiful and quite spacious . The program every year never ceases to amaze me with the acts they bring in. In March of this year my husband and I had an evening of nostalgia when we went and watched Honeymoon Suite perform . I couldn't believe it !! Last year we saw Boyz to Men . We have attended Christmas concerts , Plays , musicals , comedy shows . The list is endless , there is always something for every age group , including the symphony and opera . The sound and design of the building is perfection . There is plent of Parking and since its right on Yonge Street you really can't miss it . Alcohol is served as well as snack items , ice-cream , cookies , chips and chocolate, but since there are so many restaurants to choose from nearby , one need not worry . Its nice to not have to travel into Toronto and deal with traffic and horrific parking if you want to enjoy a little art and culture. The RHC for Performing Arts is a true Gem !

The Richmond Hill for the Performing Arts Centre is a very nice facility. It was very clean, well cared for and very modern looking. The theatre offers comfortable roomy seating on the main floor or in the balcony. The inside is very nicely decorated with local photos from the community. Very nice experience for our first time there.

We were pleasantly surprised by this new Centre right in our own backyard. Sound quality was excellent, show was excellent, seats were excellent, so I guess you know I thought it was pretty excellent.

This is our home theater and I like it a lot. Seat are comfortable and good view from every seat. My kids performed in this theater that makes it very special.

We went to see Nutcracker ballet in December 2012. We were a party of 4 - all lovers of ballet and opera.The performance was advertised as Mariinsky ( Kirov) Theatre and Victoria Ballet Academy joint production.The posters promised us "one of the best Nutcracker's performances in Canada"That was the reason we decided to go for this show versus National Ballet of Canada.Later we though that the advertising by-laws require some regulations, as it was nothing even close to Nutcracker or a ballet - in fact, it was on the level of a mediocre high school drama performance. It was not a ballet, it was a circus.Our seats were on the 1st raw of the balcony, so the visibility was superior (tickets were about 90$ per person)When the ouverture started we were surprised that it was a recording, not the orchestra (I guess this was either a cost saving measure or this venue has no room for live orchestra and stage performance at the same time)To make the story short - there was only ONE male dancer from Mariinsky theatre, the rest were Victoria ballet school students, some grossly overweigh for ballet. The "prima ballerina" needed at least 5 years of practice before going on stage as MashaAll the complicated figures were substituted by amateur level moves, the boys were afraid to catch any ballerinas when they attempted to jump, one third of the ballet itself was simply skipped (there was only one intermission).The "best" part was the Russian dance - the male dancers were changed by female ones, the poor 11-12 old boy in the middle was simply dragged by the ballerinas during the dance, once in the blue moon he would try to lift his legs.As a whole, the performance rating was 1 out of 10 at best.The good part was that we had a laugh of a lifetime and the only regret we had that we did not record the show on camera and placed it on youtube.After the performance we realized that it was COMPLETELY different from what was advertised.A phone call to Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts explained it all - Victoria ballet school RENTED the premises from them and the venue had nothing to do with it. It was indeed a high school performance where most of the audience were the parents or relatives of the student dancers.They would not refund the ticket price.The moral of the story - check and investigate before you go.

A clean,sleek modern theatre with state of the art sound system, offering a diverse selection of excellent performances, shows, films,art exhibitions and local talent. Free parking,easy access, no downtown traffic headaches make it another reason to check out the great 2013/2014 season lineup. Some shows are already almost sold out. Have attended a number of films and shows and have not be disappointed. Comfortable seating too!Great value. Appreciate not having to head downtown ,spending over 4 hours to see a 2 hour or less film and then having to pay parking. Great Indie films, rarely screened in Richmond hill are shown monthly under the Reel Thing.

We had never been to an opera and were pleasantly surprised when a large screen was used to communicate the English translation to the Barber of Saville opera performed in Italian.
