Small but authentic museum that tells the story of fishing in this region. Interesting, even if you're not into maritime history.
We really enjoyed our visit to the Fisheries Museum. It's located on a really nice spot, there is a ton of interesting historical information, live sea creatures and some video presentations.
Thank you for your kind words about the Fisheries Museum. We are so glad you found the museum and it's surroundings interesting.
So glad you enjoyed Lunenburg and found the Museum as well! It is most fortunate that you had the opportunity to take in the Museum vessels on the last day of our operational season. Our Museum Captains really can speak from experience.Thank you for your great review.
We agree with you and feel that our Interpreter staff is an important link between our exhibits and our guests. We are glad you had a great experience speaking with the Captains on the Museum vessels. Thank you for posting your review.
It is most unfortunate that you had a negative experience at the restaurant on our site. The Museum and the restaurant are 2 different businesses run seperately but if you would like, I can pass your review on to the restaurant management.
Many thanks for posting your review. We are glad you had the opportunity to visit the museum despite the fact that we were beyond our operational season. We do hope you have the chance to return again during our summer season when our vessels are open for visitors.
We do strive to keep our aquarium labels current but will reinforce this going forward. We are very proud of our Bluenose exhibit and the history of 'The Queen of the North Atlantic'. We are presently under a major reconstruction and hope to have an improved flow of the Museum in general once the construction area is re-opened. We do appreciate all of your comments regarding the Museum and thank you for bringing them forward. This always helps us to improve.
Thank you for your kind words. We are glad you found our Museum interesting.
We are pleased you had such a wonderful experience in Lunenburg. It is, indeed, filled with history and the story of Bluenose is a special part of our history. Thank you for your great comments.
How wonderful that you were able to take advantage of some of our admission discounts. Perhaps you will return again and spend more time with us to finish your exploration! Many thanks for the awesome review.
We are pleased that you had the opportunity to take in our Lobster presentation and took part in tours of our two Museum vessels. Thank you for taking the time to write up a nice review!
We are very glad you found our Bluenose exhibt and films interesting and informative. Our staff is very knowledgable on Bluenose; wonderful that you hit the talk on que! The Memorial Room certainly brings to the forefront, the reality of the dangers of fishing, with the numerous names of lost fishermen listed on it's walls.Thank you for taking the time to write your review.
The Bluenose film we show in our Ice House Theatre on 3rd floor is a polular one that shows just how much Bluenose meant to Captain Angus Walters. It is a love story of sorts, between a captain and his vessel. We are glad you found the museum informative and thank you for taking the time to write your review.
Thank you for your comments. As you may be aware, the western end of our Museum is temporarily closed and undergoing a major refit. We are hoping to have a more organized and improved interior route that will give visitors complete inside access to all the indoor exhibits, which we have not had in the past. The boats will always have outdoor access so not the most convenient when raining but it can always lend a little realism to the experience! The Museum was formerly the local fish plant and therefore was not necessarily the most efficient floor plan for a museum layout and the exhibits could appear to be unfocused but we hope that will change! Thank you again for taking the time to write your review.
