I love this movie theatre, and drive the 110 km round trip as often as possible, to enjoy the movie, and connect with Marius and Maureen, the delightful owners.
Located in downtown Grand Forks, BC is the family owned theatre. It is the only theatre in Grand Forks, but they get in up to date and trending movies. They even have some couple seats to cuddle in, or if you are a larger lad like me to be able to sit in it comfortably.Being in a small town, it is appreciated if you bring your garbage up to the front to throw away so that they can keep cost lower by not having to clean up after you.The are capable of showing 3D and up to date formats.Friendly and hospitable staff.
Lovely, lovely family run theatre the couple who own it are truly sweet. Get an ice cream cone or tea and popcorn with real butter and lots of toppings.A total must treat! Good movie choices and double wide seats (a few) .
loved the theater it was very interesting It made me feel like a child again ... it is history and very cool... what an experience .... the country life is for me ....
Came and saw a new movie here with my son and friend while staying in Christina Lake. You should make a excuse to come here. Its a older theater but the family who run it are proud of it and it shows. Nice little place, we'll be back.
If you have been to a movie in the city and dropped $30 for a movie and snack you will notice the big difference in value - completely affordable for a family. Not all modern and fancy but the owners do their best and keep good movies coming.
Come see a movie and enjoy the best popcorn in the world!! The Gem has a vintage atmosphere. The owners are great people who love to be part of our community. If you come to Grand Forks or already live here you have got to go to the Gem.
Yes the seats can be uncomfortable but it's reasonably priced, friendly staff, digital, 3D, and it has the best popcorn I have ever had! keep your eyes open now they are also bringing in live acts!
This theatre contains bits and pieces reflecting the history of movies. Photos of black and white movie stars look down at the movie goers as they enter the theatre... shelves stuffed with memorabilia from the more recent movies... Maureen and Marius treat you like you've entered their living room!
