I bought a 2 hour jet boat tour as a birthday gift for my brother and Mom. We went mid October this year and it was fanastic. The weather was perfect, the shore were lined with fishermen, we saw thousands of fish jumping as they were spawning an several eagles. The trip was scenic but what made it all the more better was our guide. He was so knowledgeable with the area and incredibly professional and very safe!I highly recommend Prestige for anybody,of any age. Great service, great value.
I tried calling the owner of this company in August (post closing date of coupon), and I did get a slow response from him. All of 48 hours later he called me, he was very sorry for getting back to me so late, I did not think this was late at all. After his explanation of every groupon coupon holders calling him steady for a couple weeks straight leaving endless voicemails for the one man office, pretty impressive I might add, and his very busy salmon season he was focusing his energy on with his guided fishing tours. He set us up with a date, time, and was very hospitable. I felt like part of the team with the owner Mike Duncan. We set up a date for mid-october as he recommended, it was a crappy day for sure with winds and rain....but his covered boat was nice with raw v8 power, I felt very safe on board Mike's boat. Once on board he gave us a safety briefing, provided us with PFD's, and we all bundled up under some nice blankets with some hot chocolate Mike provided. A+ service!!!We whistled up the river, and I must say this guy knew his stuff. He took us right to eagles, I took a few hundred photo's of them, he wanted to keep on going but we were having so much fun taking pictures of the eagles we stayed in one stretch of river. Great scenery even for a rainy, windy day.We had a great time with Mike, and I booked a couple more trips out with him for some of my customers that I wanted to show around. Once again he took us right to the eagles, and beyond. My customers were very pleased with the experience, as he complemented the trip with a hearty lunch. Mike sold us a sturgeon charter as well, and let me say. Not only can this guy drive a jet boat and take you to the eagles, but he can catch a lot of fish! He took myself and my brother out for the day, and we landed 12 fish, with our largest being just shy of 9 feet long. It made shaq o'neil look small!I would recommend this company to anyone, truly professional, and very safety minded. My recommendation would be to call mike in mid-september and book a trip for October or November for some eagle viewing. For a one man office in its first season, getting a feel for it would be key, he truly pulled through and showed us a very nice time. He also sent myself an email the other day thanking me for coming out with him on his fishing charter recently...which is great! He also told me that he has a toll free number in the works, a land line, and an office worker for the 2012 tour season. I guess he must of read some reviews on here? Definitely give it a shot with Cabin Fever! But also beware that Mike and his team do not go out if it is absolutely stormy, and may cancel a trip. Do not get upset, as Mike offers to refund you or take you out for a longer cruise. Been there, its a weather dependent activity! Have fun, and tell them Jeff sent you.
I had difficulty reaching the owner of this site for a date and time in August, to go on a boat tour. I tried E mailing and phoning him numerous times with in two weeks. My wife and I even drove 40kms one way to find where Harrison Mills was located. Inquires at the Harrison Store a lady did not offer us any information of Cabin Fever Jet Boat owner or his Adventures but another lady giving river tours. Finally he contacted me at 9:00pm and explained his cell did not work where he was fish guiding and busy. He had no land phone or office as yet and might have one in Oct. Apparently he had trouble with his internet signal as well. Discussing a date he could not give me one as all owners of boats were very busy. Finally in a further week we got a date and time with a owner of a jet boat he had hired for us. Did not send confirmation but stated the boat & guide would be available.Location- Harrison Mills is off the Lougheed Hwy just over the Harrison River bridge making a sharp right turn for approx. 4kms South and follow a sign Harrison Mills Historic Hotel and Store/cafe. Parking there you will walk 600m to the boat ramp /river if you can not park right at the river camping site. On our Adventure date we found parking at the river and located the boat and owner with our any problem.Jet boat - Seats four, life jackets were offered. Canopy canvas on top and motor covered and not too noisy for a jet boat. This boat approx. 18ft. was comfortable and safe for any chop water or windy conditons. No radio or toilet and a person must be able to climb over the edge of the hull approx.4-5ft.Two seats front & back on both sides. Boat clean inside.Location of River Tour- This is a beatiful area, Provincial Small Campsite where the Harrison River and the Fraser River meet. Boat launch area the water is quite calm and the sunny day we went the river had just a few small waves and most of the patrol was calm waters as no wind. The guide stated if there is a wind the river at the wide areas can be choppy and I know from seeing Harrison Lake before it can be very rough waters. This area we travelled we saw Osprey birds and nests, eagle, wild turkeys on the beach, salmon dead floating and some on their way to spawning grounds. Not much other boat traffic and no bears or other wild life seen. It is nice seeing Harrison Hotel Resort area beach from the lake side and North the snow capped mountain peaks.Value of Tour - For some one from living in a city wanting to get fresh air and a boat cruise adventure and not knowing this area it may be very worth while. For us we would of liked to get nearer to the shore to see if there was any wild life not so far away. We had good binocular's but still far from shore. The guide did not see any wildlife. We would of also liked more history stories of this area and what to expect at different times of the year, so a very average sight seeing tour and stopped in the middle of the lake and then back.Tip- Bring a camera, any snacks, water, ect. warm windbreaker jacket, blanket as a very cold wind can come suddenly in this area. Sept/Oct/Nov. is rainy season. Later in season more bears come out to eat the dead fish and more eagles sighting are seen on the river banks. Autumn trees are more beautiful later on with the sun rays coming much lower. You can eat a home cooked meal at Harrison store reasonable and also the old heritage hotel run tours for a small entrance fee. Good for all ages as informative and interesting.Summary - I hope by now the owner has gotten a better mobile phone for him self and a telephone to leave messages on a land line phone. We did not meet him and I know now his fish guiding was more important at this busy time then people who had a Groupon for 90 minutes ride. My first effort to try and contact him left me very worried. Thanks to Groupon Members Assistance they greatfully helped me and offered to refund my money for another Groupon, thank you!! Trip Advisor also respected my previously submitted reviews so I can offer this one and may be of assistance to some one else. Because of Trip Advisor reviews I/we purchased a different Groupon "fishing adventure" with a different company. If possible choose a sunny non windy day and enjoy a lunch on the boat or beach. Hot Sand-7.
