While getting to this high country area may be a challenge in the winter, it still provides excellent year round back country opportunities. This road is very well maintained throughout the year. Hiking, camping, fishing, with amazing views from the local peaks. Well worth a stop over, instead of just driving through as most people do. The rest stops are clean, and well maintained.
