The Great Escape really is Langley's premier hangout for kids. Beyond the jungle gym, there is laser tag, 3D golf, air guns, plenty of video games and a fun climbing apparatus for the older kids. Unless you can get a discount, it can be very expensive compared to other children's indoor playgrounds.
Kids love this place but prices for admission are expensive and it's always packed. Fun for special occasion, but not regular activity for our kids.
Took my two kids, 11 and 2 to this place and there was something for both of them. It's a really huge area and I don't think we even saw all of it! It can get a little expensive but I'm glad they don't charge the adults. Would be nice if there was a bigger play area for toddlers to drive the little cars around. Felt small in there.Oh yes, and I was surprised how good the food was. They said that they don't deep fry anything. I think I had some of the best BBQ wings I've ever had there. Very meaty and flavorful. It took a while to bake but it was worth it.
They are having $5 special from 7-9pm in September. That's a great deal. This is one of the few places my kids beg me to go when we visit Vancouver.Kids run around for two hours having fun while I chat with my friends. Foods aren't cheap though. This place is well maintained, and I still think it is a great place to hang around with kids.
I think they forget that although the place is for children, that it's the parents who pay for it, and do they make them pay for it!!! Firstly, the loud, Led Zepplin music does not suit the toddlers there mid-day, mid-week. The no outside food policy is strictly enforced by having an angry employee approach us at the table demanding we close up our home-made snacks. We never brought in food from other restaurants. The rule was inconsistently applied because another customer had some grapes on their table and no one approached them, but our cup cakes were not allowed. I guess they thought we would suddenly want to spend money on their low-grade food at high-priced rates. Needless to say, our birthday party for only three children present had to bow to their strict rules and everyone went hungry. That kind of customer service did not create a return-customer attitude for anyone in our party.
Fabulous for kids to play while parents socialize with friends. Food is mainly kid style - hot dogs, cheeseburgers, popcorn and such.
Great Escape is a child's dream! If your child cannot climb the levels themselves, be prepared for hours of squatting, hunching, and a sore back! But if your child is tall enough, you can sit back and relax while the kids go crazy. There are activities for all ages, including a ropes course and bowling! We booked the mezzanine for a hockey windup and were very impressed by the quality of both the service and the food. While a little on the pricey side, it's a fun place to visit.
I have been here 4 times with my 6 year old son. He loves it! There is a lot of space to run around, the Jungle guy is big enough for me to run around up there! I also sometimes bring my niece and nephew ages 1 and 2, they also have a blast. Parents and kids have to match stamps before leaving the building witch is always good when you can't keep your eyes on your children at all times. There is a lot of seating, and i recommend bring a book or computer because you could be sitting there a long time. We usually spend 2-6 hours there. The down side of the great escape is the food, its not very good and your not allowed to bring your own in. So fill up on lunch then hit it up, you wont be disappointed!Just a note: I see a lot of older kids running around too, The great escape if super fun for all ages.
The great escape is large; at times confusing and fun sometimes. But theres a large problem, well when I first went in it was fine. Until I started getting somewhat bullied by these other children they looked maybe 3 years younger than me and there was about ten of them. I was wondering "where were there parents?" Then I realized there were no parents in the play area expect for the ones at the bottom looking up. How can you expect you're children to be completely and utterly safe if there ZERO supervision. I will say on the bright side it was large and parents can go up with there kids I recommend all parents to do that.
to noisy for us, I know it's a kids place, should of thought of that before we went in, but even the staff were very loud.
we take my children andv nieces and nephew for a good few hour of fun.they love the games and laser tag.it's clean and not as anywhere crowded and crazy!!
This is the greatest playground for children. Both my Grandaughter and nephew love it. They play for hours there and just ejoy it so much
Compared to other "play places" this place is awesome. Very clean, the staff is great, the theme rooms are comfy and the food is much better than expected. We've had four or five birthday parties there now and we'll return for sure.
The company I work for, we had our Christmas Party there last year. It was fantastic. We have booked our party again for this 2012 Christmas. It was fun for the whole family. We had no babysitter worries. As we brought the kids also to the Christmas party. They supplied a Santa and Santa Helpers, we handed our gifts that were brought in by the company for the kids. We also ordered some goodie bags from The Great Escape as a little handout when the families left. We enjoyed the food so much. We had a hot dinner buffet with fruits and deserts also. Before dinner we played laser tag and some of us went on the Air Trek. It was fun in the 3D golf, the balls and everything glow in the dark. Some of the smaller children enjoyed the bowling. I also enjoyed climbing through the playground, it was a workout trying to keep up with the kids.I would suggest this is a place to have you Christmas party for your business. You have no worries about your staff drinking, arranging cabs/hotels, daycare, the list goes on. Everyone comes out, everyone gets home safe.
Unlike many other places in Langley that are kid oriented this place really does have it all. Lots of parking, lots of space for the kids to run wild, an average price to get into I guess. menu selection isn't bad, healthy snack options. It's a decent clean place to go, catch up on some reading while the kids run off some energy. Lots to do for mom and dad as well. Cons: stupid busy on weekends, finding a place to sit, it can be quite loud. All in all my kids love it, I can sit back and enjoy a tea knowing I'll leave there being the best mom for bringing the kids there.
