abyssal diving charters-day dives

For a certain kind of diver, this would be a great outfit to dive with. Neither my husband nor I are that diver. There was not a lot of patience for non-expert divers. Most of the other divers on the boat were close friends with the diver operator. My husband and I felt quite like outsiders crashing someone's party... to the point that the operator and one of the other men on the board were reminiscing (using quite offensive language) about a previous customer, telling sexist jokes about the other guy's wife, and teasing another female diver on the boat. They never even called her by name... just as "Red." I shudder to think what they're saying about us now!There are no amenities on the boat. No water, no snacks, nothing. Weights are available for use, but they are not marked.Earl does know all the local dive spots, and is able to time dives for tide and current. That is the only reason we went ahead and dove with him the second day. I wouldn't recommend this dive outfit.

Just finished a great week of diving with Earl at Abyssal - really outstanding ability to put our group of divers in at the right time, right place, right tide/current - just really excellent dive charter!
