hyde mountain on mara lake golf course

Have been to the restaurant by boat many times. You dock your boat and go up to a phone and they send someone in a golf cart to drive you up to the restaurant. The food and service are very good but the view is spectacular. We try to go every year, it's a nice boat ride from Magna Bay. On the way back down, once a driver stopped at golf hole #4 or #6 to take more photos and enjoy the view from that angle. Now, being spoiled, we usually will ask the driver to stop so we can share it with friends and family. Never golfed there but it's very nice. Will keep going back.

Just finished my round of golf at Hyde Mountain and couldn't wait to express my opinion of my experienceWith nobody behind us, we approached the signature #4 hole. My 15 year old son, was unable to hit the fairway from the tee box, so went to grab another ball. This is his favorite hole of any golf course he has ever played and had waited the entire summer to play this course and this hole. The course marshal abruptly halted my son in his tracks and said, no second shots. it wasn't two minutes earlier that this jerk commented on how fast our group of 3 was playing. With the price of this course, and the fact that there was not a group in site behind us, you would think this guy would allow my son to have the thrill of trying to hit this fairway.. To make matters worse, on the way back towards hole #6, this same guy YELLS out to us, "you are now behind 3 minutes" from about 100 yards away. We spoke with 2 other groups of golfers at the food shack and they even mentioned that they were having a great round except for the golf Nazi on on #4. This guy takes his job waaaaay to seriously but I am happy to know that it just wasn't us who had this opinion. It's sad to say, but one person can effect my experience at a golf course. Nice course, but won't be back.

We arrived by boat, 5 adults and one 15 yr old, the day was exhilarating!! The course was in amazing shape, absolutely stunning views everywhere with a mix of wildlife. The golf was challenging but a good round was had by all. (#4 is crazy in agood way) I cannot say enough (this being our 4th course in the area that we played) about how friendly and accommodating the staff were!!!If you get the chance, golf this course!!! You will not regret your decision for the smiles, the views and the complete majesty of it all! We will return to play another day and stay for supper....

Arrived by boat not to golf but for something to eat. Three adults and two boys, 7 & 9. Patio overlooks the lake view is spectacular! Not enough stars to give the food! Steak sandwich, club house sandwich, burger, wings and fries everything amazing! 5+ stars for the food and the friendly service! Free shuttle from the boat dock to boot. A must try if you're in the area we will defiantly be back!

We arrived by boat for dinner. We have gone every summer for the last 6 years. The docks were in such bad shape that when we tried to tie up our boat the cleat pulled off the dock. Then trying to walk along the dock was treacherous as it was broken and twisted! We finally arrived at the entrance to call for the golf cart to pick us up. The cart arrived and the 6 of us got on. It barely made it to the clubhouse! Along the path we almost ran into the maintenance tractor that was parked along the side with a broken axel. We had made reservations but when we got there they told us sit wherever. It took 20 min to get our drinks. The menu was very limited and there were a number of items not available! I asked if it was busy and she said no. Wasps were horrible and then we realized there was a piece of fish on a plate under the table next to us! The clubhouse is getting run down, the sevice was slow and the food mediocre! I have never golfed the course but I hope it's better than this! What happened?

You're not going to find to many courses quite like Hyde Mountain. Perhaps the only course I could play terrible at and still feel like i got my money's worth simply from the views. Course is always in great shape during the summer. Challenging lies and elevation changes. Your round at Hyde is guaranteed to be memorable. This course will leave an impression on you.

A shot-makers course, this track will test your ability to select the correct club. Vertical will play a big part in your round here. Take a moment to check out the views. They are STUNNING.

What an unique course, carved out of the side of the mountain I will not give a "spoiler alert", just be ready for some awesome altitude changes.

OMG! If you are tired of always playing the same golf course that is flat, easy and doesn't challenge your mind have I got a treat for you! I can't stop raving about this course! I had to think on every hole about what club I'd use, what kind of shot I could do, where I'd land my ball, how I was going to approach the green etc etc etc.... This course was more like an awesome amazing outdoor puzzle then a boring old game of golf! The views were stunning, the air was so fresh I can't wait to go back!!We had lunch here also - good food, good service - treat yourself to a round, you won't be disappointed.One note for the owners and golfers: BRING LOTS OF WATER - THERE IS NONE ON THE COURSE!!

The menu has plenty to choose from, and the food is delicious! Burgers, steak, quesadillas, spaghetti, stir fry's are just some of their menu items. Service is very quick and servers are extremely friendly. Food prices are very reasonable. The view from the outdoor patio, overlooking Mara Lake, is stunning! If you are in the Sicamous area and are looking for a great meal and spectacular view, then Hyde Mountain is the place to go! I would highly recommend it.

This was a hard course and make sure you take a working cart, the views are spectacular and hole number 4 is unbelievable. Be sure your cart is working as if you start to go up on the switchbacks you surely do not want to start rolling back. Take your camera it is well worth the trip

Great menu with an absolutely stunning view looking south over Mara Lake.The food; burgers, steaks, pasta, salads appetizers were all wonderful with good sized portions. Excellent service by genuinely friendly servers.Highly recommended!

I played this course in July and I have to say this is one of the most scenic course I have played. However the course was not in great condition. I would play the course again for the views, hole number 5 is by far the best with the tee boxes built into a mountain side and a 300 ft drop to the fairway.

Great course with some stunning holes. Some holes are a little boring but on the whole great. Nice clubhouse good food very friendly.
