Our mountain provides great trails from beginner to expert. Plan your day with a picnic lunch and enjoy the beauty of Spruce Lake or Mohawk Lake. Hikers have become lost (and found); all to say prepare with cell phone, flashlight and warm clothing. You should wear hiking boots. The mountain has streams and the trails can be mucky and slippery. A hiking pole is recommended. Enjoy!
You can go there for a good day hike. Easy trails to get to a small lake or harder if you want to get to the top. The view up there is worth it. Took me about 5 hours to do 15km (round trip). The indications to come back aren't that clear and I kinda got lost in the end and had to walk on the actual street to get back to the car... it can be a little confusing. But scenic trails worth the drive from Montreal.
I have hiked these trail several times. Really nice well maintained trails. The levels are easy to moderate. Dogs are allowed on the trails with a leash with the exception of round top. Round top has the best view however it is often the most crowded. Well worth going to these trails for a day trip, you will not be disappointed. Children should be able to hike all the trails.
Excellent network of mountain hiking trails, mostly intermediate to advanced level (depending on choice of trails and distance), well maintained, dogs permitted on leash - except to summit of Round Top - free parking. ***All trails on private property, please respect the dog leash rule.
My husband and I love walking in their trail. We gonna comeback and bring our kids this summer. Nnice for family and couples.
We went to PENS for an epic snowshoe adventure, and did we ever get one!! There had been a record snowfall 2 days before, which added to the experience and made it truly a winter wonderland. The snow on the trail was pretty packed, but there was lots of fresh powder to venture into as well. There were a tonne of different trails of varying difficulties. We took the Round Top trail to the summit and then down to Lac Spruce, a route which ranged from moderate to extremely difficult. There were plenty of hill climbs and steep downhills. There were a lot of stairs on the trail which I'm sure are appreciated in the summer, but on snowshoes it makes for difficult ascent/descent.Trails seemed well-kept and well marked, but the $5 map is definitely worth buying to plan your route.Would love to go back in the summer and try this one again!
Parc Sutton's trails are nearly all open through out the winter. Dependent on the condition you may need snowshoes or just good boots. The hike to Lac Mohawk on a sunny snowy day is just awesome.
82 km of hiking trails on Mont Sutton for all hiking abilities. On a clear day, hikers can see the cross on Mont Royal from Round Top. On a hot day, use the forest as a giant air conditioner to cool the mind, use the natural springs to cool your feet and hands.
