Spectacular setting with water running through rain forest vistas, very sorene and quiet location,an easy drive from Darwin, well worth visiting this little oasis
Fantastic location in the territory, only a short drive from the Darwin CBD. Beautiful spot to spend a whole day and have lunch or a picnic. Easy parknig and a short walk down to the springs. Heaps of spacious BBQ facilities and can take snacks etc down to the pools (no glass bottles though). Even when it's busy there's still room to swim around and chill amongst the springs. Simply stunning location.
Love going to this place and taking visitors too. Has BBQ facilities that you can have family functions at, good parking, busy during dry season as can be expected, checked to be sure its open and not closed due to croc sightings or water flow before attending.
Berry Springs is just 1 hour south of Darwin. Worth the drive. The Nature Park has a great swimming hole - check before venturing into the water to ensure there are no snappers in residence.http://www.parksandwildlife.nt.gov.au/parks/find/berrysprings#.VOpvey5GR2A
This is a great place for family, friends and kids to come and have BBQs and swim. A bit of trek to get there, but worth the effort. Always check first to see if the park is open and if the swimming holes are open before you start your drive. You don't want to get there and then find out that it is closed. Also, don't forget your aeroguard just in case. Hats, sunglasses, camera and towels a must.
Great place for a swim. The little kiosk that is there made the best toasted sandwiches and very reasonably priced.
Where else can you spend an amazing day with the kids for 'free'…Leanyer water park delivers for little kids thru to teens...
I loved & enjoyed for swim or family picnic at Berry Spring Nature Park. A place for weekend away to relax or a family gathering event. Check opening times during wet season.
A 30 minute drive from Darwin on sealed road, Berry Springs offers 3 natural pools to swim in. A great escape from the humidity and heat, the park also has many picnic tables and shaded areas. Well worth the visit.
Loved the serenity at these beautiful pools. Definitely bring a pool floaty if you're wanting to lounge around for awhile. Everything was great until I saw a goanna swimming and I thought it was a crocodile. Not keen to get back swimming in the holes, but could probably be convinced on a nice day because of the great views!
Great place for a BBQ & a swim. With a number of different 'pools', makes it easy to find a quiet spot away from any loud groups that may be about. Plenty of shade and BBQ facilities, toilets, picnic tables. Not open during the wet of course, but can always check on the Parks & Wildlife website for opening information.
Berry Springs is one of my favourite swimming holes in the Top End, and a must for visitors, natural flowing springs with varying depths for all ages, jump on your airbed and float around and relax and soak in the tropical surrounds or swim through to the next pool. There are barbeque facilities, so grab some snags and bread on the way, or pack a picnic lunch, plenty of room for the kids to run around, play ball games or just relax under the shady trees. There is a kiosk which sells drinks & ice creams. You could incorporate it with a trip to the nearby Wildlife Park. A must for visiting families.
good spot to get out of town and have a picnic or BBQ, water is fresh and good for a swim although pick the correct time of year as you cannot swim all year round. A lot of shade also to avoid the sun
Family orientated fun. You can easily spend the day here!! Make sure to bring the suncream and plenty of water. Even though the train is available there is still some nice walks
I went here for the day ,there wasn't many people because it's the start of the wet season and you can't swim it's 1000 dollar fine if you do .but would be a great spot to swim in the dry season, lots of birds very green heaps of trees and shade also toilets ,great family day out take a picnic awesome
